I don't have Pet Insurance anymore, which is why the bill was $4200. :frown: VPI will probably be my choice. Pandora used to have it. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3326/3651531735_ef0435b3cc.jpg Leslie: that pic is a happy pic. Here's a good pathetic pic - Gunther pre-op. (He's looking even more pa...

Obstruction learnings

Gunther started throwing up periodically on Wednesday, though he was eating and playing. Unfortunately as of Friday night he refused food, and so I had the regrettable guess that he might have some sort of obstruction. On Saturday (he still wouldn't eat) we went to the vet to confirm. The regular/ho...

I hate cropping. I so wish more natural-eared dogs would start winning in the show ring. No need to crop a pet dog. My own dog has huge Dumbo ears, and it makes him ever so much cuter. ;) Dogs use their ears to communicate with other dogs. Plus it just makes your dog look scarier to the general publ...

Huh

How old are they, and how big are they?

They almost look like Canes or something. Maybe it's the pix.

What do they act like?

Huh

Did you leave her with a chew toy?

Biting her tongue seems the most likely. How scary! And just in time for Halloween... BWAHAHAHAAAAAA

You checked for Happy Tail injury, yes?

Hmm

Mr. Ear-rection lands at my house tomorrow. So keep the names a'comin! I kind of like Oswald McEarhat, but I haven't met the guy yet. Dunno if he's  enough to pull of Sputnik on his own - he may be too dorky. In other news, I really want to name a dog Ira Levine. But not this dog. Sigh. Oh - o...

We still have no idea. I'm leaning towards Booker just so we can be done with it. Mebbe yer lil' dude c...

Diet

Don't overexercise your pup - you could damage his joints. Let him just do what he will. Good nutrition, time, and appropriate amounts of exercise will lead your dog to his optimal health. Avoid corn-based foods and don't get suckered into "high-protein" foods (it can blow his kidneys). Neuter him a...

Hair loss

Hey Adam - Alopecia issues are more common with blues than full-color dogs. Ask your vet about it. I've seen blue Dobes that were basically bald. I will tell you that my dog Gunther (who is a blue brindle) had enough skin and coat issues - a few little bald patches, dry flaky skin, brittle coat, etc...

How long are they gonna stay with momma dog?

Just wondering. ;) I love the little white-headed one - always a sucker for the lightbulb heads. But I am up to my elbows in rudeboy blues right now - my own, and Buzz who just lost his goddamn foster-to-adopt home. Sigh. :dj: That emoticon has no bearing on my post, but I felt compelled to use it. ...
