Re: Post your training videos

I'm having trouble having her find the heel position when i'm not in motion. If i'm moving she's able to adjust and seems to have the concept, but if I am still she just can't figure out what I want. She'll circle all the way back to the front position. Also in her sits, half the time she will swing...

Re: Post your training videos

We don't compete in anything, but I still enjoy working with my dogs. I'm pretty much self taught other than some obedience classes. So here's Annie doing a little heel work today. We haven't worked in a while other than some silly tricks we worked on cooped up this winter. ( fuzzy butt rescue makes...

older non- pit bull looking for home in Texas

This sweet dude was rescued from a bank parking lot by one of my clients. No owner has showed up for him after extensive searching, so he is now looking for a home. He has been fully vetted, is neutered and is approximately 8 years old. VERY calm and sweet. Would be a great dog for an elderly person...

Re: good thoughts for annie

Any tips on helping her heal? I would like to do everything I can to avoid surgery, but from what I've read so far I shouldn't be very optimistic about getting out of it.

Re: good thoughts for annie

Unfortunately, not good news. She has a partial tear of her ACL. No surgery yet. She's getting Adequan shots weekly, and is on strict rest, in hopes that we can get it to heal. But the vet did say that it's very likely that after weeks of rehab she may just blow it, so, not to be suprised. So, damn....

good thoughts for annie

Just trying to keep myself busy for an hour. Annie sees the vet in about an hour to check out her leg. She's had an intermittant limp on her left rear leg for about a week. Here's hoping it's just a strain and she'll be fine.

sooo proud of my Bear

My instructor from Bear's obedience class last fall e-mailed me today and invited us to come participate in class tonight because they were doing CGC/TDI prep. Bear took his TDI test in the fall and passed every section except the down, which was just insane. The test was on a super cold day, with b...

Well, i'm going to give it a shot, but i'm doing this under the radar, as my husband claims he isn't much of a cat person. She'll be indoor, outdoor for the time being as I get Bear(and my husband) used to her; and Annie, but i'm not too worried about Annie, a she's lived with a cat before. I've nam...

is there hope for cat aggressive dogs?

Bear eats cats. He did $800 worth of damage to my cat that lives at my parents house several years ago. She did end up ok, but only because of a very skilled vet. He's not been around a cat since, other than salivating at them on walks. There's a very adorable, friendly, black cat outside my door yo...

Dogs have concept of time?

I was under the impression that dogs didn't have a true concept of time. Bear has been coming with me daily to a client's house where I work with their dog on basic obedience and then the two dogs get to have a play date. Bear loves it as does their dog. We go every day at 10 a.m. except weekends. B...
