Re: Canned vs. Dry food

Mostly I would think whatever works best for your dog and is affordable for you. I just looked at dogfoodadvisor.com, thinking they might have an article on it, they didn't but the reviews might be helpful for you. One thing I've heard is that dogs teeth tend to stay cleaner with canned food, contr...

Mast Cell Tumors

I was reading the sticky on mast cell tumors and I am curious as to whether they can be floating on the skin. My dog has one on her stomach but it is right in the skin and basically moves with the skin. It is not 'attached' to the body itself and does not move on the body, just on the skin, as thoug...

Canned vs. Dry food

I apologize if this is a topic that has already been looked into. I haven't been on the forum in a long time and I've been doing some reading lately on canned vs. dry food...however, for CATS. I am curious what the consensus is on the benefits of feeding canned instead of dry food to dogs. I have a ...

Re: Puppy Pad Training for Adult Dog

A dog walker could be an option but they are quite expensive in down town Toronto for private walks and since she is a pit bull, off leash group walks are not an option. Private ones are pricey x5 days per week can add up. Plus I get paranoid that something will happen and only trust our family with...

Puppy Pad Training for Adult Dog

Hi all. I'm hoping you can help me out with a training question. I have an 11 year old bully. Fully house trained. I live in a condo and I take her out in the morning and late afternoon for her walks. However, because of winter/snow/cold, I have taught her to use the balcony during evenings before b...

Dog Food Analysis Sites

Wondering what everyone's opinion and comments are on these two sites I've come across, some time ago. They're updated frequently and I only started reading them thoroughly recently... http://www.dogfoodproject.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com" onclic...

Re: Top 5 Foods

I browsed a little bit, but didn't see it on here. What do you guys think of Taste of the Wild? We've been getting it in Canada for some time now. Its kind of considered a replacement to Timberwolf where I live. TO wasn't too popular to begin with, but with the additional issues they were having an...

Re: Feeding Kibble and Cooked?

I know that feeding raw and kibble is a no no, but how about feeding kibble and cooked food at the same time? And how about feeding raw and cooked food? (by cooked I mean cooked/boiled meat and/or vegetables)... Yeah I just realized I frequently supplement my dogs kibble with some other yummies, li...

Re: Dogs and Feeding Fish

When it really comes down to it, all kibble is crap - no matter how high quality and pure it is - it's still food that's been seperated, extracted, ground up into powder, mixed and baked into hard little balls. You would have to feed a whole prey model diet to do it right - but most people don't ha...

Re: Dogs and Feeding Fish

I've read some places that the chemical/preservative they use in the fish HAS to be in all fish meal by law(in the U.S.) The amount of the chemical in the meal differs between dog food companies. If my dog's diet consisted of a large portion of fish, I may be concerned about mercury levels and heav...

Re: Skin Tag on Gums?

Just a response to keep everyone posted: Got the 'bump' removed from her gum and sent it off to the lab. Turned out to be nothing but a little growth due to some bacterial buildup. Vet recommended that I monitor the area and just put a little more doggy toothpaste on the brush to keep things fresh a...
