Re: My dog is... HA.

Thanks for taking the time to explain how you've made it work! I hope the OP has read your post. Not sure when it moved to T/b compared with when they last posted...

Re: My dog is... HA.

You have some boooooooold family members. Not everyone, dare I say very few people, are going to agree to being test material for a dog displaying this kind of behavior. The truth is, you don't understand her, what is motivating her or how far she'll go. You are doing her a dis-service by allowing h...

Re: My dog is... HA.

ah-ha. My advice, break down the behaviors into as small pieces as you can (consider taking notes) Remember, it is what the dog perceives that is what matters. The reason to take mental or written notes is that there may be an offending factor that is blowing by you at this point. Her behavior is bo...

Re: My dog is... HA.

Additionally, while you are waiting for your first appt with a qualified trainer, have her stop meeting people! We are past the test phase (I wonder how she'll react to this...) and well into practicing and perfecting the negative behavior. Every time you put her in a situation that she deems unacce...

I actually think he is older than anyone first thought. An adult, old enough to both build up tartar and round down his canines (inexact science full of holes) so let's just say about 3. ETA: And as far as other dogs goes, I should clarify, as an only dog would be fine, although I hate to make a bla...

He likes other dogs fine, his behavior is more a lack of communication skills than anything - a lack that could get him into a heap of trouble if poorly managed by a poorly qualified adopter or rescue.

TB, I'll call you tomorrow. Thanks adoptanapbt for having a look at him with Desi, it did provide some worthwhile insights. He was also, reportedly, on his best behavior. Humping, in and of itself, is not that serious and can be more a doofy solicitation of play than anything else. It's the yahoos t...

Big blue pig needing some help in Northern CA

http://pic15.picturetrail.com/VOL608/2769845/5553388/329248640.jpg He is at a local shelter. Neutered, chipped UTD on shots. Needs a savvy adopter that can diligently adhere to pit bull basics and moderate this big pig head at all times. Here's the deal; I love this dog, he is a LOT of dog but by n...
