Paris is 10 and she's on a whole new diet!

Hello friends, I hope there are still a few of you who might remember me. For those who don't know me I joined this forum when Paris was about 6 months old, and today she is 10 years, 4 months and 19 days young! Trivia question: When is her birthday? :nana: In the community I am in, there has been a...

Artemis Dog Food

Yes I think I'll do just that. I'll keep a close eye on her. I do keep her in good shape but the past months she's spent with my parents made her gain 8 pounds. My dad feeding her table scrap all day everyday and my mom putting more kibble than necessary. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to shave...

Re: Artemis Dog Food

Thanks for the responses. mtlu, yes I am in the UAE, Dubai to be specific. I think it makes sense to mix kibble with wet food. So given that she needs 3 cans a day if I am only feeding wet and 2 cups a day if I am only feeding dry, I will mix 1/2 to 3/4 of a can with 1 cup per feeding. Does this sou...

Artemis Dog Food

Hi All, As some of you know I moved to a place in the world where good quality kibble is hard to find. All we have is RC, Euka, IAM's and all that other low end kibble (IMHO). After much MUCH months of research, I was able to find this British lady that supplies Artemis dry dog food. I researched it...

Lump on the neck!

Hey guys I have a question. I took Paris to the vet 3 days ago for shots and a general checkup. So he checked her out, her heart rate, temperature etc. He also did a physical medical. He gave her all the shots that she needed and in the end he just recommended frontline. So I was like why not. He br...

Re: Need Serious Help

I'm no professional trainer either, but I have some experience under my belt. In my experience, when a dog lifts up a paw and keeps it like that for a while, he/she is unsure of the situation, surroundings, what to do next, etc! Unless someone else rejects my opinion, I think that is what it means! ...

Re: I had a very bad incident today; need help!

Thank you so much everyone  I got a lot of help since I opened this thread and I have already started working with Paris. I knew coming here was going to be nothing but good for me and the dog. Like JoeBingo said, I hope that everyone always takes great care and not be "complacent" th...

Re: I had a very bad incident today; need help!

Hey guys, nice to hear from everyone :) I'll try to answer all the questions as much as possible. Someone asked about repercussions. The beginning was bad. The camp manager called me to get her out of the house in two days or get myself out! Fortunately the assistant manager is a friend that I've kn...

Re: I had a very bad incident today; need help!

I'm not a trainer or behaviorist so I won't try to address those issues. But obviously, a good/ "no questions asked" leave it/recall sure would have been handy. I would work on training or reinforcing trained recall for one thing. The other thing that came to mind, was the thought of mayb...

I had a very bad incident today; need help!

Hello everyone, hope all is fine! So let's get straight to the topic. I live in a compound and today in the morning I was having coffee in the backyard with Paris around me. Suddenly she leaped and ran outside of the backyard (she wasn't leashed, mistake) for what I thought was a cat. Turns out a co...

Some leaking issues :S

Hi Guys, I hope all is well with everyone. Paris and I are doing great still trying to get accustomed to a new lifestyle, so it's all good. A new issue has started with her; she now leaks from her vagina. It's not pee or anything like that, it's just a transparent/odorless liquid. She started doing ...

Thank you for posting this! Molly has to be on "rest" for another few weeks because of her leg so this is going to come in handy. Watching the videos makes it so much more clear how the timing of the clicking matters. I am guessing that the additional clicks at certain points were to shap...

Congratulations. I feel you and have had a couple of those "great moments."

You should be very proud of your hard work. Hopefully this is enough motivation to keep you working more and more with your dog. They stop learning when you stop teaching ;)
