frisbee

What ways have you guys found that work the best in teaching and dog to run and cath a frisbee. Fantom dosen't really like to chase things, but he loves to play tug. I got one of those RuffDawg frisbee's that is "undistructable". http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7713508732&...

Good idea about getting him wore out, never though of that.

He's good with distractions. I can have him sit stay on one end of our dog park, and me walk to the other end (50yrds?) and he will stay there with dogs flying around him, then come to me after I give the realease command.

leash training

So Fantom is good at just about everything but being on a leash in public. I've tried taking him into all kinds of stores and getting him used to public places but he still goes nuts and pulls on the leash all the time. Now, when were going on walks he's fine, he stays right at my left knee. But as ...

You can put a set of bells on the door handle. Then before you go outside grab her muzzle and kinda knock it against the bells. Then she'll assoicate the bells ringing to going outside. This way you wont have to see her when she wants to go out, you can just hear her. I recomend taking her out about...

If your worried about the heat thing you could always keep a bowl or bucket of water in your front yard. Then whenever you go by your house let her stop for a quick drink. You don't want her to tank up on water then start running again, thats just asking for trouble.

How old is she?

do you feed once or twice a day?

Do you feed your dogs once or twice a day. As of now Fantom gets his food twice a day. Once before school then once at 6pm. I read in a post awhile ago that if you feed a dog before night time then they will gain wieght that way. We'll Fantom's not fat because me and him run before school and walk a...

There's a SCH. trainer 2blocks from me!!!

I was walking Fantom earlier this morning and I saw this guy with one of those padded sleeves on and his black GSD in a down/ stay. Then I saw his GSD biting the sleeve and playing with it. So I sat down and watched for a lil bit then when his wife went to get some other dogs I went up and talked to...

With all the chewing you might wanna get him some toys to chew on. Then just toss his toys in his crate and he should be alright. If you really wanted to get fancy you could teach him to go into his crate on command which is very helpful. Just grab a treat say "crate", or whatever you wanna use, the...
