Re: Your advice for healthy skin..shiny coat

TOTW pacific stream has really made Helena's coat shiny and smooth. The vet commented today that she looked very healthy. It's made with salmon and ocean fish meal. She loves it.

Hope For Helena (vet trip)

Helena went to the vet today. And yes her ACL is torn, a pretty good tear. But the doctor said that surgery is actually a plan B! He said that she should be on crate rest for 4 to 6 weeks and that we could start swimming her now and he is starting her on a high level of glucosomine/chondriton and th...

Re: Helena needs help bad (tore other acl)

I'm going to go with the PBRC help route and I had a lady on another forum offer a donation. My boyfriend might be able to set up a donation fund at work and possibly family and friends. I'll admit I've made a lot of bad decisions but I never intended to hurt my dog in any of them. I love her very m...

Re: Helena needs help bad (tore other acl)

I had a great job and income when I got Helena. I lost it due to my illness. How can I apply for care credit? I have a veterinarian that my mom worked for for several years. They know me and I am setting up an appointment when the vet calls me tomorrow. I only asked for help because I have seen seve...

Helena needs help bad (tore other acl)

. My dog Helena tore her ACL last year and due to money troubles it took us 5 months to get the surgery which we had a payment plan set up and got behind on. Well today I let her off leash for no more than a minute to run and she came to me holding up her good leg, not touching it to the ground. She...

Re: Raising the next weight pull champ

What is the most weight you should put on a 1 year old dog? And if I get a training harness can I start him around 6 months with that and then add an empty plastic jug? Then slowly add pebbles?

Raising the next weight pull champ

If all goes well Onyx will be my weight pull dog. What can I do to ensure that he won't cause any injuries to himself and to strengthen him for the future. What are the building blocks of creating a weight puller? At what age can I get a harness for him to get used too and at what age can he start p...

Since you said that you do things differently with puppies, I have tried to show equal attention to my resident dog and my new puppy. Helena seems to want to play but she does do the paw on the back and my puppy submits, he has gotten excited about her play antics and will occasionally put his paw u...

Helena had somewhat of the same problem, only not in public. She would react the same way you described when strange men (a friend) who came over. She would bark, growl, hide behind me and my boyf, and hunker down to the ground. It was odd and random because she didn't do it to everyone, just certai...

I keep Helena's bowl filled every day or every other day. She doesn't seem to be taking any excessive water in, or peeing more. When my cat had kidney stones, he seemed to want to tell me, he would start peeing in random places and than one day he came to me and squatted and cried an awful sound. I ...

Thats the good thing about feeding EVO. She dropped weight and got lean and muscular. It can be a little tough to see definition on a black dog, but she has built some nice tone.
