Re: Names I'd like to never hear again*

Ugh two of the three Buddies that come into the shop I work at (sketchy Shih Tzu and a Cockapoo who's alternatively nervy and cocky at once) are anything but buddies. Charlie is another one I'm not too fond of, but used to, but it's becauase I've associated it a lot with the most bizarre looking, ne...

I feel the exact same way! And I'd soooo rather deal with hardheaded dogs than hardheaded people.

What could have caused this? (lymph gland question)

Matilda's lymph glands on her neck felt enlarged last night as I went to bed so naturally I worried. I was going to make a call to the vet today but now they're normal sized. The only time they swelled up before was when got into some peanuts. She's her normal self in all regards, so could it have b...

Re: Shelter Play Groups

The SPCA here does play groups after careful introductions. I've noticed that since they've been doing this, there's been a lot less dog reactivity. Unless the play group dogs want to be with each other while on walks :)

Re: Does your rescue/shelter offer sales?

Yes, occassoinally, especially with 2 for 1 specials for cats and elderly/older animals, or animals, or long termers (generally the adoption of these dogs includes free obedience training).

Re: how often do you bath your dogs?

Once a month, at the very most, with the exception of Suki's allergy season, when she gets just plain water baths and her oatmeal baths.

Re: What is your favorite dog food?

I feed my girls (twelve year old Shiba Inu, Suki, and four year old Rat Terrier mix, Matilda) Orijen senior and they do fantastic on it. The only thing that does`t do so fantastic with Orijen is the wallet  I feed them raw beef on the bone usually once a week in addition.

Re: Does ayone else's dog suffer from allergies??

My eleven year old Shiba Inu, Suki, gets bad seasonal allergies. The hair around her eyes comes off and it makes her look like she has mange. :( Oatmeal baths help and today I gave her a cider vinegar soaked which seemed to help, she still itches but not nearly as much. I also give her over the coun...

Re: Pics of raw fed dog teeth

I feed my girls raw 1x a week for now since March and I've already seen an improvement in my old girl's teeth (my younger dog has always had white teeth). Soon as I get a pic, I'll put 'em up.

x2. Also there's been a lot of blockages and recalls from so called "safe" products such as rawhide, chew toys, etc.

Re: Tick prevention with Revolution

I personally haven't had a problem since we've been using Revolution. We started to use it one year when Hamish had a bad time with them.
