Re: Taste of the Wild

Another person who feeds the salmon formula here. Its the only non-prescription food our little allergy girl can eat.

:inlove: :inlove: That little baby is adorable!! And I agree..teeny. This is a pic of our little one at 6 weeks old next to a normal sized kitty..and I thought SHE was tiny!! She's now a good solid 40lbs, and still small compared to some. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m8/artemiss1977/puppy/Pict...

Another vote for the TOTW Pacific stream. And just a little note, in case someone didn't know this..the Pacific stream formula is the only one that doesn't have egg or chicken in it, making it suitable for dogs who have allergies to those things. (Like my lil itchy-girl, Kira) It has thus far been t...

It was the first nonprescription food I could feed Kira.

I dunno about the "complementary" kibble/wet thing..for one dogs think cat poo straight from the litter box is crunchy-goodness with a creamy filling.. :yucky: That said, Kira loves vanilla yogurt on her fishy kibble.. :yucky: It's worth a try, right now, kira thinks she needs parmesan che...

Whaaa? The food I have been feeding Kira has potatoes or sweet potatoes in it, so I would have to go with "No, they do NOT cause mange" Mange is caused by mites. Now generally a weakned immune system predisposes a dog to a certain type of mange, but I am not sure how potatoes would contrib...

Antibiotics causing it?

Quite possibly..Kira gets sick from large doses of cephalexin.

I had better luck splitting the tabs/capsules in half and giving the dose full dose with a generous treat about an hour apart or with a partial meal.

As I said before I use NV raw diets. They do use salmon oil and olive oil, in all the diets, except organic chix. However rod did not have any problems on the beef except for an anal gland issue. When he was on organic chix and now lamb.. his foot licking has exploded. eta: that "as I said bef...

I had a nightmare trying to find a food I could feed Kira that didn't rash her up. As little as I wanted to, I fed her prescription (read: pricey!!) Royal Canin Venison and Potato for about a year before finding something else that worked..Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream formula (salmon/fish and po...

Just wanted to update.. My mutts have been on the Pacific Stream TOTW for almost three weeks now. (well, two weeks transition, one week just TOTW) The greyhound has the best poo she's had since we've had her, and seems to have lots of energy and bit less dander. Kira has somewhat larger poos, but st...

The venison and potato used to be venison and rice until the melamine scare. It was one of the foods affected. Just to point out- NB did not know the rice they were using was coming from China. They were buying from an American source which was in turn buying from China without telling them. They r...

Oh, and do they have quality control issues? I got a bit of free time and googled some reviews, and the most common seems to be that people bought a new bag, and the smell and color was off/different, still fed it to their dogs, and said dogs became ill. They contacted the company, and was told tha...

Kira is doing fantastic on the Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream formula. I am pretty sure it is just salmon/fish. The was something that made her itchy in all the NB formulas, (I am thinking maybe flax oil?) and prior to feeding this, the only thing she could have was a prescription Royal Canin Veni...

Yep, Kira has them too.
Some on the white blaze on her chest, and some on her muzzle.
