Re: wobblers syndrome

Hi all thanks for the replies. The vet called and the neurologists at the vet school believes its more severe than wobblers that it is more likely a tumor on his brain stem :(...but not to rule out a severe inner ear infection. So he's taking amoxicillin and continuing his prednisone.

Managing hip dysplasia

Thunder is my 5.5 year old male pit bull. He's had noticeable hip dysplasia for a year now. He's on supplements and pain medication as needed. Now I am thinking about getting him one of these: http://www.orthodog.com/images/bella_old.jpg http://www.orthodog.com/dog_hip_dysplasia_limping_braces.cfm" ...

Re: "Dogs need by products"-Vet

Thanks for the replies guys, isn't by product also not just parts but sometimes diseased animals as well? Isn't that where the part that euthanized animals can be mixed into by product? Or I am way off topic??

"Dogs need by products"-Vet

My sister asked her vet what would be the best dog food for her dogs because she was using a all natural dog food, and the vet said that all this all natural stuff is not good for the dogs and its not natural. He said that dogs need by product in their system because that is what they ate in the wil...

Re: Eating habits

Oh I know most of you mentioned not adding tastier things to the food, sometimes I just like to surprise them, because they don't have any problem eating, its usually got in 7 minutes!

Re: Eating habits

Is chicken broth okay to add to dog food? I've done that a couple times just because I had extra left over from chicken noodles or something.

Re: Who's Had Hives?

Oh wow I have never seen a dog with hives like that, to the OP.

I had a dog once that broke out in hives in her groin and "arm pits" when stung by a bee and the vet gave her a benadryll shot.

Hope things get better!

Re: Hip dysplasia :(

Just wanted to update on the things I've done for Thunder. I do massages for him and watch his exercise limit with the other dogs, and the kids. I try to keep his excitement level down as well. He is still taking his inflammatory medication when needed. But hes doing a lot better, and boy do I feel ...

Re: Hip dysplasia :(

Thanks for the advice I will look for that glyco flex supplement. The inflammation medicine has helped a lot. I am going to call other vets in my area, the vet that we go to are typically known for being pricey. But they've always seem to gone the extra mile with my animals (i.e. I thought my hamste...
