Beware Animal Shelters in the States

Please all animal shelter works in the states, this woman brings all of her animals up from the southern shelters or anywhere she can get them as well as pit bulls. She is sick and needs help but refuses to get it, she refuses to adopt out most of her animals and they remain in crates for up to 22 h...

Re: New to the Forum

It is always nice to have new members on this board but I have to say that I don't think you are going to learn anything here. Obviously you don't want to listen to what others have to say and obviously you don't care about the fight that the members who own LEGAL pit bulls have to go through on a r...

Allergic reaction to Advantage

We treated Buddy recently with Advanatage maybe a couple of weeks ago and tonight I noticed when I was trying to brush him that his whole back end seems to have a rash. From the base of his tail up. I am thinking he is having an allergic reaction to the advantage but could it be possible after a few...

Re: Broken Tail?

Well imber tail may be caused by lots of swimming in water that is too cold or too warm, or engaging in heavy exercise of some sort. Buddy gets it a lot as he loves to swim no matter what and can over exercise for his age. Basically it is very painful at the base of the tail and your dog won't be ab...

Re: Broken Tail?

Could be something serious or could be something minor. Best bet is to get him to the vet rather then wait it out, Buddy has this about once a year as he is prone to Beaver Tail but we take him to the vet to be safe as you can never tell.

Re: Hip dysplasia Surgery or No...

He gave 3 options surgery, pain management or euthanasia. He is under 2 is on limited exercise, has his good days and his bad days. My cousin is also worried about the after care if they opt for surgery but are wondering if surgery is a necessary thing or if a dog can live with the pain management f...

Re: Hip dysplasia Surgery or No...

Yes for symptomatic. Not sure of the exact grade at this point but the vet recommended the surgery and said it would be $7000 each hip. He has good days and bad days apparently.

Hip dysplasia Surgery or No...

Thankfully not for Buddy but my cousin's dog has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia in both hips. They are wondering what people think of the surgery? Should it be done or can a dog live without it? He is young, I think he is about a year and a bit now and is a lab mix. Any suggestions or advice is g...

Re: Anyone knows what happened to petesdoggear.com?

If you go on their facebook page many are having the same problem as you. Many are having to dispute with their credit card companies. After we saw that we decided not to place an order until we know for sure what is happening. People have paid in full and have not received their collars in months.

Seperation anxiety disappearing with age

Can separation anxiety just go away without a lot of conditioning? Buddy used to have severe separation anxiety when he was younger but now he seems fine to be alone and just sleeps. Before the doors would be chewed or busted down and the mail got eaten a few times but we come home now to a perfect ...

Re: financial questions

I am not sure what training classes you have been looking into but I have yet to hear of a training class that costs $100.00 an hour. Maybe if it were private consultations it would cost that much. The training class is more for the proper socialization for the dog as he will be able to interact aro...

Re: financial questions

Well considering the area you are in requires you to have special insurance you may want to take that into consideration. BSL is nothing to joke around about you are purposely putting a dog into a situation that it shouldn't be in. Your city has yet to repeal the BSL in the area and you could be fin...

Re: Muzzle 101?

Is there a reason for choosing a muzzle over training? I know dog selective/aggressive dogs who have gone through classes specifically for this issue including myself and my dog. I would choose these classes over a muzzle any day. In fact we will be going back as my Buddy's old age seems to be makin...

Need some training advice

Buddy will be going on 11 this year and for some reason he refuses to listen to my SO. His brains seem to go out the window if my SO is telling him to do something which is really driving me nuts. It is especially bothersome when he walks the dog as well as when he lets the dog out. When i tell my d...
