Re: Timberwolf - New Formula?

I still wouldn't touch Timberwolf with a 10 foot pole since they lied about their ingredients in the past and were sketchy about the packaging and changing kibble size without notification.

Re: EVO Herring and Salmon Formula Trial

I was hoping EVO would make a fish-based grain free food, but I only wish it had less protein. *sigh*

Re: What does everyone feed their dogs?

Taste of the Wild Salmon formula for both my dogs. they also get fish oil and Falon gets Vertex. TOTW Salmon is the best food I have ever tried for them, and trust me....I've tried everything. They have been eating this for about a year now with exceptional results.

Re: Peeing Blood and two vets have no clue

I take it they ruled out Lepto? I guess there's more to it than just bloody urine (lethargy, etc), but just a thought...

Re: Most common health problem

I would say (in this order)

Mange
Cruciate Tears
Luxating patellas
Allergies
Heart murmurs
Mast-call cancer

Just my opinion of course...

Re: ? about luxating patella

Thank you. Should I get MSM at the health food store? This is where I get Falon's pure MSM (it's for horses, but you only have to give dogs a pinch or 1/8 teaspoon twice a day). It has worked wonders for her arthritis from having a luxating patella and two cruciate tears that were surgically repair...

Re: What do you put in your Kong?

I mix canned dog food with yogurt (looks disgusting...lol) and freeze it. Works well and doesn't cause the runs

Re: SHAMPOO???

Hartz has had many issue and recalls concerning dog deaths from their flea/tick products. I can't remember the name of the shampoo off the top of my head, but it would be best for you to call your vet and see what they recommend, or drop by a pet specialty shop to see if they have anything other tha...

I have a collarmania chain martingale collar and use it for 90% of her walks and it hasn't ever stained.

Re: ? about luxating patella

Sorry, forgot to mention:

To "fix" it, we just made her rest/leash walk for about 4 days and she was fine. We also added pure MSM as an anti-inflammatory supplement.

Re: ? about luxating patella

Falon had one (after having cruciate repairs on both of her back legs), but it only came out once and hasn't had any issues since. We had a checkup after the first time it was "out" and she was having problems, and the same vet could not get it loose again so we didn't do anything about it.

Re: Dogs doing poorly on Good Quality Food?

Falon is one of those dogs that has done well on pretty much everything, except DVP (ironically). Her coat looked terrible on it and she looked kinda thin despite feeding her the correct amount of kcals/day. She is now eating TOTW (rotating b/t the different formulas), but she's eaten Pro Plan Fish...
