Running fits

Gabby gets excited when we play and runs, as fast and as hard as she can. The funny thing is, she seems to hunker down to the floor, tuck her butt up close to her front legs and kind of gallop. It is really hilarious to see her, all 65 lbs, running as hard and fast as she can in our little house, bu...

Extra long nails

Gabby has always had long nails. Even when she was a pup, I notices her nails were quite a bit longer than most pups. I clip them, and walk her daily on pavement, etc, but her nails are still really long. The quick never seems to recede. She has never broken one, or pulled one out, but man, that loo...

Gabby gets a bath with Aveeno Oatmeal shampoo. She has skin issues (food allergies) any way so I use that

I will have to get some baby wipes for her feet. Sometimes they smell like corn ships.

Actually, I got mine off of a busted hose at work. You could probably get a piece from the Fire Department.

They have an outer sleeve made of canvas, and an inner sleeve made of rubber laminated to canvas. You could stuff it with squeekers and pillow stuffing if you wanted then stitch it closed.

Nice Toy find

Gabby makes short work of any toy we get her. I mean short work. Her big blue Jolly ball? about 10 minutes before she hung a tooth in it, and about 30 min before she had eaten a hole in it. Kongs? Chewed to bits, etc, etc. I got about a 2' section of 2" diameter fire hose. She loves it and its ...

When Gabby was a pup, would touch her on he snout with my finger and tell her "no teeth" if her teeth touched my skin. I did not swat her, or touch her forcefully (snouts are sensitive) but, I made sure I spoke with authority. At 4 yrs old, when we play now, if her teeth touch me she quick...

Okay, step 1 is under way! We just got back from our walk. She is tuckered out. Its 80f outside. A friend up the street who has 2 APBTs mentioned being careful of walks this time of day because she can overheat. He said 8 PM was a good time in the summer. Thanks everyone for not making me feel like ...

Okay, We will start by walking. I live in a neighborhood, so it should not be a problem. I also have some woods behind my house to walk after tick and flea season. Gabby is a house dog (sleeps during work hours) so exercise is needed, but the vet said that was not her problem, her problem was she wa...

Fat dog

My vet blessed me out and basically called me a murderer. He said Gabby will be dead in under 6 years because she is grossly obese. We feed her dry Iams. She really does not like much of anything else as far as dry food goes. I am going to switch her to a better dry food and try the yogurt trick. Sh...

Thanks! Gabby has changed a lot of folks minds about Pitbulls. She is very obiedent. If I take her out to do her bidness and some kids come up, she will freeze if I call her name sternly. She only gets distracted by other animals(I am wary of neighborhood dogs who roam) and she loves to chase squirr...

Hello all I am the proud owner of a beautiful female APBT, Gabby. I did not want a pitbull. I was as prejudice of them as anyone until my wife brought an orphan pup home. She was 1 week old and we bottle fed her. She lived about 2 months and died of a seizure. My wife was so crushed, we bought anoth...
