You're asking what you should do to mitigate any psychological trauma to Gaia, right? So she doesn't start trying to kill small dogs? (I.e., you're not asking about how to sue your neighbor, landlord, etc.) It's a good question, to which I'd like to know the answer myself. Maybe ask in Training and...

What are my next steps?

Our neighbours little chocolate/poodle/tiny annoying dog mix just bit Gaia. My husband was taking her outside and came out of the door and the little thing lunged for Gaia's face. Her nose is bleeding a bit but it doesn't look too serious. I'm at work right now but heading home in 45 mins. I've alre...

I know someone who uses Easy Walk Harness and likes it a lot. It's a front-clip control harness. Getting it fitted properly takes a bit of adjusting, I think (saw a video of it somewhere), but once it's adjusted, it apparently works quite well. (I've never used it myself though.) That's what I use ...

Need Alternative to the Lupi

I recently bought Gaia a Lupi(no pull harness) it's just rope and from the second it was on it was great! She pulled much less than she does even on the prong however we've been keeping an eye on it and it's day 3 with it and it's chaffing her. So bad that it looks a bit rope burned under her arm. D...

Gaia won't really pose for the camera, she'll sit if I ask it but otherwise she looks like I've beaten her

Stormi-I was concerned by the biting...I know my PB does not lash out at me if I startle her. She does have two cuts that broke the skin from the dog. I'm not sure how they normally punish the dog. She's never really had guarding tendencies except for once around our dog after a full day of playing...

Wegobad you hit the nail on the head. The issues they are having with their dog is b/c of the lack of consistent training and the reinforcing of unwanted behaviours. I'm assuming by punished she means they hit the dog :dunno: at the very least they would have put her in the kitchen on her own. Punis...

What advice to give a friend?

This was the message I rec'd from her, she has a 2 year old lab who is a bit wild. So yeah, Sophie bit me yesterday….I am not sure what was up….but regardless, it was unacceptable and she was punished by me and Justin….I think I spooked her…she had something in her mouth and I came up behind...

What does this look like?

So Gaia finished off antibiotics from an infection due to allergies on Oct 8. She was getting little almost blood blisters on her tummy and than she had massive hives. After the antibiotics she's been fine. No hives and no blood blisters. We figured out the allergen was a cheap wet food we were addi...

Going to the Vet on Monday

Gaia developed some bumps along her right side toward her rump. I tried Benadryl thinking they were hives, nothing in her diet changed but DH took her for a walk in a field(no tall grass or anything). That was Wednesday and they have not gone down at all. I'm wondering if they are related to the sor...

Another Flea Question

I'm so ITCHY!!! So Gaia has fleas, I've seen two so far. We took her to the vet and decided to go with Sentinel, about 2 mths ago she had roundworms so we thought this would be great. Just googling Sentinel and it says it stops the egg/larvae/pupa from forming correctly but does not kill the adults....

I'm no expert, but Gaia was very mouthy, when she would nip we'd let out our "yelp" and if we couldn't get or turn away we'd turn our heads away from her and ignore her completely.

Good luck with your twosome!!! Sounds like a handful :))

Someone had a similar question just a few weeks ago and Red told them to do something like: get the dog to trade up, so find how close you can get before the dog growls, once you find that spot drop some really HIGH value treats, if the dog leaves whatever it has praise, continue to do this until yo...
