Re: ARCH Luce!

BIG Congrats! That's awesome!

I loved doing CDSP with Bubba! It is a great atmosphere and such a great venue to prepare for AKC obedience. Best of luck to you. I wish there were CDSP trials around here :-(

What material is the ball made out of? Is it a tennis ball or some kind of rubber that has some springy give to it? Maybe you could look for something made out of a similar material as the ball your dog likes I agree! If it is a tennis ball...maybe something like this: http://www.kongcompany.com/wo...

I don't know if this is the best way...but what they are having us do in my classes is watch the dog during a stay and if you see they are about to get up you zip in before they do and give a treat and praise "good stay"...and also praise & treat periodically during the stay. graduall...

I should also add, you should have two commands for each 'finish'. What I use is 'heel' for the right finish, and 'finish' for the left finish.

Judges like to see confident outgoing pups who go well on lead.

It is a great facility! Bubba and I took a competition obedience class there about 2 years ago. Barb is great and she is a fan of Ready as well :) Ready took flyball classes with Dede there too.
