Re: Pickles - available in Sacramento

Okay, since I took Pickles in, I keep inadvertently calling her "Gypsy." At first, I had no idea where that kept coming from, then I figured -- duh! Must be because of our resident brindle gal - Gypsy - on the forum. Of course, the real Gypsy is way more of a looker than this poor little s...

Re: Daisy Mae - Sacramento!

BUMP!!!! Poor girl needs her forever home, so please help spread the word! She's such a tiny, stout little girl. You can almost fit her in your purse (okay - one of those ridiculously BIG purses... but still a purse!) LOL! She is reasonably good with other dogs -- even females -- once she warms up t...

Re: New grain-free dog food!

I just bought a bag of the grain free costco food. I switch between Wellness and Natures' Variety, in general, but I also tend to feed the fosters the same food as my dogs, which gets REALLY expensive. This is a decent price, so we'll see! :)

Re: Daisy Mae - Sacramento!

LOL. I agree. She is a cutie! She's actually so far shown herself to be a pretty easy dog. Relatively quiet (the debarking makes her even quieter -- unfortunately). She doesn't seem to chew inappropriately. She takes treats gently. She responds to verbal corrections nicely. She's pretty mellow.... s...

Daisy Mae - Sacramento!

Daisy Mae is a little Pit Bull with very bulldog features. She's a shortie! Stout and cute, with a short muzzle, beautiful brindle coloring, and the confidence of youth. We pulled her from the Sacramento City Shelter -- where she came in VERY pregnant. The shelter gave her a spay/abort. Her previous...

Re: GRAPES -- how urgent is eating four grapes?

Grapes are one of those things that seem to be toxic to some dogs and not others, and the amount varies per dog. In fact, there was a dog I read about that lived on winery land and the owners always knew when the grapes were ready to harvest because it was ONLY when the grapes were just ready for ha...

Re: Severely obese lab...

what is normal? Is he in hte middle of the range? On the low end of the 'normal' range? If he is on the low end of the normal range, you might try a very low dose of thyroid supplement, as the range is really a guideline. What might be "normal" for one dog may be hypothyroid for another do...

Re: Bleeding tail tip

You can go to the vet and have it wrapped, etc... but you can also first try this: Get a box full of those LARGE bandaids, shave the tip of his tail, and wrap the bandaid around the tail. Every time it comes off, put a new bandaid around the tip. Tauri recently (for the first time in 9 years) opened...
