Re: Has anyone ordered from "silverleaf Leather"?

Rivet strength depends on the kind of rivet you use. I am very very picky about rivets and only use a certain kind. You also need to make sure they are set correctly and that they are the proper length. My hang up with chicago screws is that even with loc-tite, they have come undone. I need to find...

Custom Leash and Martingale Collar

I have been getting into leather crafting recently and I decided I wanted to make myself a really awesome martingale-leash combo. I use this so many ways -- as a car leash, a backup collar in conjunction with another collar, and a regular training leash. It's a combination multi-functional training ...

Re: CGC Testing

Get her into a basic obedience training class and practice, practice, practice these specific things with friends and anyone else you can recruit. Leave her with strangers (your friends) in other places (recruit them to come along). Start off by leaving her for 30 seconds (out of sight) and come rig...

Re: Building kennels vs making...?

what gauge / mesh size chain link did you use? Honestly, I was skeptical when I put mine in, but it's going on five years and the kennels look as good as they did on Day 1 - granted, I haven't had many dogs in their that are kennel crazy and try to tear the chain link apart, but I have had dogs in t...

Re: Pickles - available in Sacramento

Okay, since I took Pickles in, I keep inadvertently calling her "Gypsy." At first, I had no idea where that kept coming from, then I figured -- duh! Must be because of our resident brindle gal - Gypsy - on the forum. Of course, the real Gypsy is way more of a looker than this poor little s...

Re: Daisy Mae - Sacramento!

BUMP!!!! Poor girl needs her forever home, so please help spread the word! She's such a tiny, stout little girl. You can almost fit her in your purse (okay - one of those ridiculously BIG purses... but still a purse!) LOL! She is reasonably good with other dogs -- even females -- once she warms up t...

Re: How do I stop him from crying?

He's a young pup just taken away from his mom and littermates (I assume). He's used to sleeping with a pile of other animals for warmth and security. Now, he's left alone. Of course, he'll cry. I would recommend that you make sure he's *exhausted* before putting him down to bed. Give him lots and lo...

Re: Male-Male Relationships in dogs

if both males were neutered early, your chances are better of them getting along into maturity...but nothing is ever a sure thing, even with opposite pairings. Your boy is still very young, so you're very wise to be cautious. You won't know for sure how he matures. he could start to develop some dog...
