Re: NJ/PA weight pull clubs?

Thanks everyone. I had forgotten about Pride & Prejudice, I've heard of them. Unfortunately I won't have a new car until next month, but I'll keep my eyes on the Events section.

NJ/PA weight pull clubs?

I'll be ready for a pup in a year or so and I'd like to start getting out and meeting people in a couple months. I've never competed in weight pull, but it's the sport I'm most interested in getting into. ADBA conformation is also a goal. I know of the TriState APBT club, any others nearby?

Re: Nylabone concerns ever?

Casey's not allowed to have them. He got to one of my poodle puppy's small nylabones, devoured it in 20 minutes, and threw up quarter sized pieces the next day. Could have been because it was a puppy one, but it made me nervous.

I'm guessing with all the rules/regulations, it wouldn't be allowed for you to put in a good solid tie out setup within the PVC fencing? That way, you know there's no way the dogs could even hit the fence/jump over it.

If that's out of the question, I agree with a hotwire.

http://newtrix.ca/docs/index.php I just got my EasyWay from NewTrix and I love it. It will take some introduction just like any head collar if your dog isn't used to them, but I feel a whole lot safer putting this on Casey. I used a GentleLeader with him for a bit, but it frightened me on the few o...

Switching training methods for the trained dog

When I first got Casey as a bullheaded ~18mo old rescued stray, I was 14. He was a mild mannered dog, but was VERY hard to control on leash. The person who fostered him was very old school when it came to training, she was used to the old ways of training and hunting with GSPs. So I just followed wh...

Damn, ME. Liquidating, are we? Wish I had some extra cash...

I never knew you had a copy of Bob Stevens' book? Geez. I'd love to have that in my collection but can't justify spending the money right now.

Edited to fix my rusty typing skills.

Hm, I don't have any suggestions as for temp fencing. As for a padded collar for the tie out, try O'Brien's. They have some wide fleecelined collars.

We bought one(Petiwhatever) at my salon to try it out, hate it.

If you want the automatic stop feature on the dremel, in case any hair gets caught in the drum(for those with long haired dogs), get one of the Dremel brand made for pets like from PetEdge. Otherwise, go for your local hardware store.
