Skin cancer on the belly

Took Ella to the vet today to get a growth checked out, and the vet said it is most likely skin cancer  She is going back on Monday for surgery to get it removed and get a biopsy to be sure. Anyone have any advise or experience? The vet set no more lying in the sun for her (one of her favorite ...

Re: Licks around when scratched above tail?

My wife's old retreiever/corgi Tammi (rest in peace) would always sit in front of me and try to get that part of her tail under my foot, so I could scratch her with my foot lol

Re: Xena has a lump on her muzzle

Had a similar thing with my dog Ella, where she had a big lump on the side of her face - turned out she somehow got a foxtail seed in her. The doc gave us some antibiotics, and it cleared up within a day. She has been fine ever since, but I now keep her away from any dry brush/weeds/grass

Actually our Ella is quite the opposite - when I am sitting at the couch, she will try and situate herself between the couch and under my legs. lol

Ella is an escape artist, and knows how to get out of a regular collar. I've tried a body harness, but it just made her pull harder (works great in the snow for play though lol ) I also tried the Gentle Lead harness that goes over the head, but she really didn't like it at all - you could also see i...

Also wanted to add that in the mornings and at night, when we let Ella out to go potty, she sometimes just pees, but we have to go "ah ah ah!!, go potty!" and she stops for a sec, seems to think about it, then goes and makes a deposit for the plants.

Ella is kind of the same way - we let her go into the yard regularly in the morning, afternoon, and evening to let her go do her business, and she is quite good about it. The problem is when we forget to let her out, is when she has an accident. When we first got her, though, she had accidents all t...

My main problem is on actually on the cat end - we have two cats, and Ella has figured out not to chase them, but is more curious about them. One cat, Mira, basically just keeps her distance, but our other male cat, Junior, is up and down - some days he tolerates Ella being in the same room, other t...

Re: A bit long...

This is a really great post...good info. I have a question actually about the cats...Can you teach them to be friendly with the dog?! We have two cats and Chase is very interested in both of them. Monkey (the kitten) will just roll over on her back if Chase comes near her and at that point Chase wi...

Hey now!

Just wanted to introduce myself - I live out in Hercules, CA, and our Dog's name is Ella. We picked her up from the pound a couple of months ago, and she has been the sweetest thing - she is just a big goofball that loves people, and is even starting to get along with our 2 cats. She not quite too g...
