Re: Hello From Canada

Yes, I am well aware of the risks involved. He stays indoors except when we walk around our neighbourhood. We live in Ottawa and I don't know about the rest of the province but they're not as strict as they were when the ban was first imposed. I was under the impression that the dog would have to a...

Re: Greetings from Southern Ontario!

good call :)

I rescued my pit mix and the rest of her litter from Ontario...Animal Control euthanized their mother when they were only 3.5 weeks old and wanted to put the pups to sleep as well. All 7 of them now have great homes in Nova Scotia where they live muzzle free...:)

Re: Greetings from Southern Ontario!

Welcome! If I were you I'd keep his paperwork, etc stating he is a retriever mix. If you start broadcasting he's a pit mix you could be in a whole heap of trouble. Pitbulls and the substantially similar are banned in Ontario under Bill 132 (if your not familiar you should really do your research) ht...

Re: Decided to try out Holistic Select

Holistic Select is actually the same as the old Eagle Pack Holistic Select - they just changed their branding - formula is still the same.
it's a decent food - we fed it for awhile with no issues.

Re: eat it, all the kids are doing it...

I've had success with tomato juice in the food....we tried a product called deter - but it was expensive and only worked while she was on it - and of course it wasnt just her own poop she was eating it was the other dogs too so they all needed to have the pills as well...ugh.

Welcome. :)
You need to put the .jpg link between the IMG tags to let your photos show up on your posts. Theres a button along the top that says Img if you click on it it inserts the tags for you to put your photo URL in between.

Re: Allergy issues/UTI

We are doing a food trial now as per the vet's recomendation.

Currently we are trying a duck based food, where before he was on lamb.
I will look into those supplements - I do know he is being bathed regularly (and he absolutely hates it lol)

Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Mutant fleas...

last time we had a flea infestation we bundled all the dog beds in garbage bags and tied them up tight and left them for over a week. If the fleas are in there, they need to eat and if they cant eat if there trapped in a garbage bag......we washed everything else we could, and vaccuumed EVERYTHING.

Allergy issues/UTI

Okay, here is some background history on the dog first.... Brew was pulled from a local shelter approximately 2 months ago - he was originally found, collarless, unaltered and running at large in a bad area of the city by animal control. He is a pitbull, about 60lbs when picked up, muscley and solid...

Re: "runts" of the litter?

I have a runt, she was approximately 3-4lbs smaller then her siblings up until they really started growing. She is also the only female in a litter of 7. At almost 2 years old (October) Avery weighs approx. 40lbs and her 6 brothers weigh between 60lbs -90lbs. Her mom was about 45lbs when she had the...

Re: Nobody is helping. (Pika? Or What?)

It is in my opinion as well, which is why I'm steamed. Sorry everyone. I'm a bit flustered right now because Eris is weezing and is making weird noises and crying. The vet didn't do anything. I'm not sure what to do now. Should I wait or try to get her in to another vet asap? Has she ate or drank a...
