Dot needs a home! Mid-Michigan

Miss Dot was found as a stray in Flint, MI, and no owner has been found, so she's looking for a new home to call her own. Dot is approx. a year and a half old, petite (short and around 37 pounds), housebroken, and has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. She also appears to ...

MMBR - 2 new medical cases in desperate need of help

Mid-Michigan Boxer Rescue had just this week put a temporary hold on any new intakes, when we got slammed today with 2 new pups that we could not turn away. The first is Rayne, a 5 week old APBT puppy rescued from the streets of Flint with a very badly damaged foot. She was turned over to a concerne...

Re: looking for a Boxer rescue

I foster for Mid-Michigan Boxer Rescue - we've got some super nice dogs right now, including a *gorgeous* 2 year old male that's not up on the website yet :) Libby is also very sweet and a younger girl, and we have a lot of seniors right now.

Tampa Florida area folks...can anyone help?

This is a bit of a convoluted story, so stick with me. I volunteer with Mid-Michigan Boxer Rescue, and we got a call today about a dog in the tampa area. This dog was adopted out in 2005 by another boxer rescue group in MI that is now defunct. Apparently when they ceased operations, they had at leas...

Gulliver - special needs puppy

This is Gulliver, or Gully - we pulled him from an overcrowded shelter late last week. Gulliver already has joint problems at the young age of 5 months, and will need an understanding (and generous!) owner willing to accept that he will likely need knee surgeries when he's older. He has a bit more o...

Miss Portia is here! I received her for foster late last night, and she's an absolute doll. She's recovered from her amputation very well, and has also been spayed. She's a kissy, cuddly girl who did well with a quick introduction to my old boy last night, and she'll be tested further with other dog...

Helping Portia...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb147/slbeiser/portia.jpg This pretty little girl is Portia. Miss Portia was hit by a car, and then dumped with her sister at a Michigan shelter that sells to research dealers. She is now in the care of Mid-Michigan Boxer Rescue (her sister was also lucky enough t...

Well, the verdict is in on Benson.....we went in today for his neuter and had pelvic radiographs done. He has old femoral head breaks in *both* legs, very poorly healed and non-repairable. Could have been caused by an accident, but the vet hinted that it very well may have been abuse. Also has luxat...

Class B dealers are individuals that are licensed by the USDA to purchase cats and dogs from "random sources" - typically meaning pounds, animal controls, fleamarkets, or auctions - to be sold to animal research facilities for biomedical research and testing. As disgusting as the practice ...
