Thanks to all

I am not counting on fixing the problem if Moose is DA, just learning how better to protect all concerned. The problem is that all of the dogs in my neighbor hood are free to roam at will, some people even let their dog out of the house when they see Moose. Which is a nightmare, because one house in...

Question for those with DA dogs

Hi, I am still trying to figure out if Moose is DA. I am trying to get an appointment with a behavorist right now to have him evaluated. There has only been one dog who Moose has straight out gone after. If you would like to be to explain in detail let me know. What I would like to know, is what do ...

Good rescue is NH, MA area?

Hi all, we are thinking about adding another kid to the family, I want to go through a rescue, and was wondering if anyone lives in the same area as me and has rescued a dog. Thanks for any help.

How to get in contact with Diane Jessup?

Hi all, I just read throught the thread "leash training lesson" and I really wpuld like to ask her some questions. I don't know why loose leash walking Moose is so dificult for me. I jsut can't seem to get my head around it. I know it's supposed to be simple, but I guess I'm dumb. I have t...

Some new pics of moose and update on the situation with lab

Hi, all. To those who have read my posts on the probelm I was having with the neighbors lab, you will be pleased to know he now has a new home. They had to rush him to the e vets, for a second time. The last time he had eaten his leash, and this time he had eaten a sock and a pair of underwear. Well...

How much did you pay to fence in your yard?

Hi, all. I am hoping to fence in my backyard in the spring, and i am just trying to get a rough estimate on how much it will be. If you could tell me how big your yard is, and what kind of fencing you used that would be great. If you feel like adding pics too , that would also be appreciated. Thanks...

Gatorpit, Is there something I should do then? I mean about him nipping at me, should I consult a professional? It may be changing I guess, but he has always been easy with us, we have been able to put our faces in his food bowl while he was eating, pretend to chew his bones, while he was chewing on...

You make a good point, an unfortunatly i don't have a fenced in yard right now, i am going to do it as soon as I can. Moose was biting me, because i had him by the front paws and he screamed in pain a few times before he bit me. I think that is normal dog behavior, when all hyped up like that. It wa...

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply Gatorpit. I know that DA comes with the breed, and I have always tried to be watchful for its development in Moose. This has been an ongoing thing with the lab since they got him, but they used to keep him contained, so it was only once in a while that he ...

I thought maybe she had the dogs mixed up, but I am not planning on getting rid of Moose regardless. I am going to talk to some training professsionals, and see if they can evaluate him and see how DA he is in their opinion. I am going to keep him muzzled when I take him out of the house regardless....

To Kaliya5 Are you saying I should rehome Moose? I have never had any problems with him and any other dogs. It's just this one dog. I have had small dogs charge him, growling and snapping, and all Moose does is lay down. That was the way he was trained to greet smaller dogs. To M.Anderson I don't kn...

Hi, thank for the relplies guys. I always have Moose on leash when he is outside, and I guess I will have to call animal control. They are trying to get rid of him, but no one wants him because he has no training, and was basically brought home, and left to his own devices. They have a electric fenc...
