Distemper Outbreak in Kingman, AZ

I hope I'm posting this in the correct area. This was in our local newspaper. I don't know if there is anyone on this forum near us, but Kingman, AZ is about an hour away from me. So just a heads up, I guess. ------------------------ A lack of full disclosure? Customers say animal shelter didn’t rev...

Re: It's Lymphoma Large Cell Type.

Rebecca, I am so sorry for your loss. I'm aching for you and your family. Ella was one of my favorites, and I will miss her. I have never met her, but I cried for her...and you. *big hugs* -clarissa-

Re: 2010 blows.

I am so sorry to hear others are going through this type of thing, too. I have already had two deaths this year. My old terrier mix passed away. Not real sure what happened, there. She was definitely old, and a rescue. Then, my white pit bull Blitz had to be euthanized (severe diabetes). My grandmot...

Re: rescued puppy diagnosed with PARVO

Keep getting better, little guy! You're doing great! I won't stop thinking of you, Rhino. I think you have a wonderful puppy parent, and I know with that support backing you, and your own strength, you will pull through this all the way. :pray

Re: Need Good Thoughts for my old boxer

Thanks, everyone. You all are so kind here. I really appreciate it. I've been in shock this whole time, I think. He had the pills...he wasn't doing worse, but maybe not better, either. He went FAST. It was horrible to watch. I was going to have him euthanized when I noticed him getting worse, but he...

I've lost puppies to parvo...I know how scary it is. I'm keeping Rhino in my thoughts! I really hope he pulls through. I know he can do this! :pray

*His FOLLOW UP vet appointment, that is.
He had already gone and got on the pills again. He was supposed to have another complete blood panel/count done in a week, but didn't pull through.

Re: Need Good Thoughts for my old boxer

I do not want sympathy or anything of that sort...I probably won't even post in the "Memorial" section, because it is too painful. I just wanted to add one last thing to this thread. Kasch has passed away. He never did get to come stay with me. He did not make it to his vet appointment. Th...

Re: Puppy with bent toe, need advice please.

That was my first thought/instinct...vet. Since none are open (it is now a little after 5am), I just wanted to post here to see if anyone had any other suggestions. :)

She isn't with me, yet. We were just discussing what was best to do, since we can't call the vet right now.

Puppy with bent toe, need advice please.

The short story is, the puppy got her toe stuck underneath an exercise pen. The toe now appears to be bent. It is not bleeding or anything like that. It just looks odd. Does anyone have experience with this? What should be done? Thank you in advance. :)

Why go through all the effort when there is http://www.rodentpro.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I use them for snake food, and they're animals are always clean and healthy and packed to arrive still frozen. I'll have to agree with this answer. I, personally, have not ordered fro...

Re: Need Good Thoughts for my old boxer

Thanks again, everyone. Seeing as it has come back, he will most likely have to live the rest of his life on prednisone. I don't know how much of a quality of life he will have, but I know he will let us know when he's ready to move on. I don't want to be ok with that thought, but I feel I am. I hav...

Re: Need Good Thoughts for my old boxer

Thank you, Leslie. Just an update...yes, his anemia is back, unfortunately. He is back on prednisone, and needs to go for a blood panel in 1 week. They want to make sure the pills are working. So far, they seem like they're doing a good job. We got them the same day I got there, and by the time I le...

Re: Need Good Thoughts for my old boxer

Is it autoimmune hemolytic anemia? You'll be in my :pray I can't find the paperwork right now (in a box somewhere, but will have them before we go to the vet, unless we go to the bullhead vet, which seen him the first time), but yes, it definitely had to do with the immune system and anemia. So I t...
