Re: Dog lunging on leash - aggressive or no?

I know, sometimes dogs lash out without any warning. No, they don't. They lash out without warning that humans see, because most humans don't know that's what the signals mean, or even know to look, but they lash out after multiple body changes and signals that other animals pick up on. That's what...

Dog lunging on leash - aggressive or no?

I can't seem to find an answer to this. So far, I've read a lot on multiple websites about dogs that are clearly acting aggressively. If there IS a thread about this, I'd like all the advice I can get to share with a potential adopter. If things do go well, I'm going to snap lots of pictures of the ...

Distemper Outbreak in Kingman, AZ

I hope I'm posting this in the correct area. This was in our local newspaper. I don't know if there is anyone on this forum near us, but Kingman, AZ is about an hour away from me. So just a heads up, I guess. ------------------------ A lack of full disclosure? Customers say animal shelter didn’t rev...

Re: Pit bull only likes men?

Thank you for your response. :) I kind of titled this post a little wrong. It isn't that this dog only LIKES men, because he gets along with everyone. Like I said, he was just buzzing around, doing his own thing when I was there. However, he really comes out of his little world with men around. With...

Pit bull only likes men?

So, I was talking to a friend earlier today. Her pit bull was buzzing around, but not really paying too much attention to us. It was not unusual at all, but then she voiced her feelings about said pit bull. She was a little hurt that HER dog, was so obsessed with her boyfriend. They do not live toge...

Rebecca, I am so sorry for your loss. I'm aching for you and your family. Ella was one of my favorites, and I will miss her. I have never met her, but I cried for her...and you. *big hugs* -clarissa-

Re: 2010 blows.

I am so sorry to hear others are going through this type of thing, too. I have already had two deaths this year. My old terrier mix passed away. Not real sure what happened, there. She was definitely old, and a rescue. Then, my white pit bull Blitz had to be euthanized (severe diabetes). My grandmot...

Re: Obsessively licking people?

Thanks for the replies. Red, the licking is extremely intense when you first go into their house. If you sit down, she'll come full force at your face, tongue going as fast as possible. If you stand there for awhile, and let her get out some of her "wiggles," you CAN sit down. She'll climb...

Obsessively licking people?

This is for a friend...I do not know what to suggest, as I have never come across this. Maybe someone here can help. So, this dog (May) will come up to you, and obsessively lick your face. If you try to push her away, she will lick your arms, hands, legs, even CLOTHES if she can't get to your skin. ...

Re: rescued puppy diagnosed with PARVO

Keep getting better, little guy! You're doing great! I won't stop thinking of you, Rhino. I think you have a wonderful puppy parent, and I know with that support backing you, and your own strength, you will pull through this all the way. :pray

Re: Need Good Thoughts for my old boxer

Thanks, everyone. You all are so kind here. I really appreciate it. I've been in shock this whole time, I think. He had the pills...he wasn't doing worse, but maybe not better, either. He went FAST. It was horrible to watch. I was going to have him euthanized when I noticed him getting worse, but he...

*His FOLLOW UP vet appointment, that is.
He had already gone and got on the pills again. He was supposed to have another complete blood panel/count done in a week, but didn't pull through.

Re: Need Good Thoughts for my old boxer

I do not want sympathy or anything of that sort...I probably won't even post in the "Memorial" section, because it is too painful. I just wanted to add one last thing to this thread. Kasch has passed away. He never did get to come stay with me. He did not make it to his vet appointment. Th...
