Re: puppy in apt is it possible?- crate training

I agree that for some people its a must, but its not necessary for everyone. I love the fact I can trust my dog to have free roam of my house when Im not at home. My neighbors lived in the apt next door for 8 months before they even knew I had a dog.

Re: puppy in apt is it possible?- crate training

Why do you feel the need to keep the puppy in a crate? If you have no other animals then let him have the apartment when your in school. You mentioned you have time before heading to school so you could use it to teach the puppy boundaries. Id never lock my dog in a crate when she was home alone. Mu...

Re: Cesar Millan

I think your looking at the word submission completely wrong. Submission doesnt mean backing down to fear, or tapping out, or any other sort of scary thing. It just means letting them know who is in control. When your dog walks behind you or by your side, thats submission. When he sits by your side,...

Re: Cesar Millan

As far as alpha rolling... Have any of ya'll ever seen a wolf on a nature show take its paws and physically put another wolf on it's back? Maybe it's just the ones I've seen but they always seem to roll over WILLINGLY a true leader DOESN'T have to be a bully to maintain their position as leader. Bu...

Re: I think my puppy is depressed..

I dont believe a 3 month old puppy can be depressed. Maybe an older dog with issues sure, but dogs dont dwell on things like humans do and get depressed about past events. They live in the moment, which makes it possible for even fighting pitbulls to become great family pets. Maybe there is somethin...

Re: "Puppy Problems HELP"

Sounds to me like your puppy is asserting his leadership. Remember, it isnt HIS food, its YOURS. It isnt his treats or crate, its yours. Try not feeding him or giving him any attention until he does what you want. And what you want is a dog that sits and waits politely for the things he gets. Gettin...

Re: I think my puppy is depressed..

Sorry, but dogs dont get depressed. Get him checked by a vet before doing anything else since he was taken way too early. Dogs can look depressed, but since they arent human, they dont have human emotions. Im sure people will argue with me and come up with a million reasons why their dog can have h...

Re: 2 pit bulls and a lab...help!!

First you need to tell your brother in law that if anything happens, its strictly his fault. Since you said his dog is very hyper it means its not a well balanced dog. I never allow my Karma around unbalanced dogs because even though she may not start the fight, she will definatly finish it. I would...

Re: Uh Oh...mad at me? or just being a jerk?

Dogs do not hold grudges, or poop somewhere to get back at you. They just dont think that way. Sounds like hes just having a hard time adjusting to all the change going on. Be patient, and enforce the same rules you did in your last place. Also make sure everyone else in the house is on board and do...

Re: too excited-piddles

Ive tried just posting my views on dog training, but over and over I was told I was wrong, evil, cruel, and they feel sorry for my dog. I am not here to make people like me, Im here to read about my favorite breed of dog and maybe help some others if they need it. But I will not sit back and keep my...

Re: I need to know about the game...

I think tug is a great game. I always play with Karma and its her favorite game to play. I only play when I want and never play when she tells me to by hooking her rope around my hand or feet. I let her win sometimes, although I dont think she sees it as winning. She also will drop it as soon as I s...

Re: My puppy wont stop pulling me when I walk him..

Remember, the walk doesnt start outside, it starts as soon as you get the leash. Dont start until the puppy is calm. Make sure you walk out the door first and dont start the walking until the puppy is calmly sitting by your side. Also Ive found changing directions helps alot because the dog has to f...

Re: Male or Female pitbull?

In my opinion I would rather a male dog. I currently have a female and love her but sometimes I think females are too strong headed. And also you wont have to deal with that pointy vag hanging down, and its kinda gross especially when she sits on your arm. I think a male is also easier to potty trai...

Dont single me out for bringing up Cesar since Im not the one who started talking about him. I dont care if your a regulator, moderator, or if you were God himself. Just because I dont agree with most people here on treating their DOGS like humans doesnt mean I dont have valid points. Why dont ya go...
