Re: Question about WA state law on Pit Bulls and rental prop

Thanks guys! I was thinking it was BS too. I told my sister I didn't know that was the case and neither did the shelter I work for. I was also thinking IF that was true, it would have been mentioned on the forum many times. On the other side, can a dog -friendly complex say certain breeds aren't all...

Question about WA state law on Pit Bulls and rental properti

Hi guys! I was talking to my sister today who just moved into a dog friendly apartment complex. I asked if Belle and Buster are able to visit and to my surprise, my sister explained they can't. Well, I wasn't surprised they couldn't visit, it was the reason she gave that caught me off guard. She sai...

How to care for a doggie staph infection?

Buster and Belle have been struggling with allergies really bad this year. (but then again, who isn't?) Anyway, Monday afternoon I saw a bald spot about the size of a quarter on Buster's neck but it seemed like a regular hot spot (not that he has ever had it that bad before). Anyway, yesterday morni...

Re: need answers

Wow, I'm so sorry for your loss. I also suggest a necropsy. That's the only accurate way to get an answer like that.

Re: Heads up Oregon!

I haven't heard of anything since last year. There was a special session in February and I don't think it was even mentioned then either.

Re: Taking reactive dog to a dog event

Thanks for the advice guys! This was the first time I even considered taking Buster to something like that. My friends and family have been giving me a hard time that I leave Buster at home and take Belle to all the fun stuff. They see he's super nice and sweet and lovable at home but not many have ...

Taking reactive dog to a dog event

I have Belle and Buster. Belle is a super social girl that goes everywhere and everybody loves. All the people who know Buster love him but he is much more cautious and slightly fearful. Because Buster has anxiety around hyper or dominant dogs I have to be extra cautious about the situations I allow...

Re: Vet Etiquette advice needed

Hmmm, I never thought about asking about price matching and they've never offered it. I'll ask them about it next time because it's a win-win. They still profit from at least a little sale vs. losing all of the sale and I save money either way! I guess I never really thought about the time it takes ...

Vet Etiquette advice needed

I'm not sure if this should be in the medical section because it talks about the vet but i don't think this is an actual medical question. If this is in the wrong section, please relocate it. Sorry this is so long but I wanted to lay out all the facts before I ask for advice. To start, I've been goi...

Re: Tivoli

I don't know much about rescuing and fostering but since it sounds like that part of Oregon isn't too crazy about Pit Bulls, would it be better for him in regards to getting more potential adopters and keeping him warm if we were able to get him transferred to the Oregon Humane Society in Portland o...

Re: Black dogs drive her crazy

Belle has issues with black dogs too. She also has problems with super shaggy dogs where she can't see their eyes. Buster has issues with dark colored people or people wearing hats. I don't think it's necessarily a color/race thing. I think it's because they can't see the object clearly... at least ...

Re: Are these seizures?

Thanks for the info guys! I noticed most of the time when she does it she's just waking up or has been awake for a short period of time. I'm hoping it's nothing major as she already has a heart problem and is on watch for Cushing's Disease and she's only 5 (turning 5 in January). I'll definitely sta...

Re: Belle needs your thoughts and prayers

Thanks for checking guys! She is doing much better and seems to be about 60% better. Her face is more relaxed now which was another big sign she wasn't feeling well. Last night she slept in the bed so she's wants to be around people more. She didn't throw up again after Thursday but when she would e...

Are these seizures?

Every now and then, which is becoming a little more frequent recently, Belle will be laying down and suddenly kick her legs out straight and do a quick bark. She then just lays there not moving, looking around for a few more seconds. For the first few seconds after she barks and twitches or whatever...
