Re: HELP PLEASE!!! Potty in the house!!!

I would take her out to potty, wait until she goes (no matter how long) and then throw a party when she does go! Here's the thing - I do have small children so unfortunatly, I cannot wait outside however long it takes. I am doing my best to go out every hour and we have friends who are helping us o...

Re: HELP PLEASE!!! Potty in the house!!!

I was just thinking of one of those cones - you know the kind the vet puts on dogs after they get stitches? Although I'd never heard of a pee stake. Can someone tell me more about that?

Re: HELP PLEASE!!! Potty in the house!!!

1. take her to the vet and have her checked over, just to be sure it's not health related. 2. take her back to the basics of potty training - treat her like she's had no training in this, because, in essence, she hasn't. Dogs are concrete thinkers, and when she was potty trained to your last house,...

HELP PLEASE!!! Potty in the house!!!

Hey guys, It's been awhile since I've been on the boards. Some of you may remember me and my dog Maya (a tux-lab bully mix). When I first came to the boards, I was also fostering Ty, an American Bulldog. Quick update: Ty has found an amazing home and is very happy. Woohoo! :peace: Also, when I first...

If I don't buy it by the middle of this coming week, I'll just use some lengthy rope like suggested until I can buy a long leash from Ella's Lead. :)

So, how was the trip? Did you take e-collars, long lines, both, or what? What worked, and what didn't? We forgot that we had plans this weekend (Steve had a buisness thing last night, we've got the local National Pit Bull day this morning and a Halloween thing tonight) so we didn't go. We'll try ag...

You can always get a long piece of rope and a cararbiner. Or take a long braided steel tie-out cable; those aren't terribly expensive. But in general a good source for long leashes is a horse supply place. Longe lines (pronounced "lunge") come in a variety of lengths, up to about 50 feet ...

I was watching some Dog Whisperer episodes yesterday and I should have kept track of episode names, etc - because I saw him using positive reinforcement quite a bit. For example, there was a dog who was afraid of the scale and he used treats to help him make positive associations with it.

Both are altered. That increases my chances then correct? Both altered, opposite genders -- that gives you the best odds, I think. But even with really good odds, why take unnecessary chances? The odds are good that you won't be in a car accident the next time you're driving; but if you've got any ...

Hmm. They sound like energetic dogs... You might be stuck with midnight zoomies until they reach old age... Yah, maybe crate them at night? That's probably best for safety anyway, especially as they get closer to the age when a lot of Pit Bull Terriers mature into their dog-aggressive tendencies. I...

I bought my 50' lead from this company: http://www.mendotaproducts.com/checkcords.html If you contact Ellaslead.com, they can probably make one any length you want but I'm not sure how much it will cost. Awesome. I just checked them out and they have 2 retail locations in Las Vegas. Yippie! :) I'll...

There are a lot more than just snakes in the area that can be a danger to your dog. It's important to look up what animals are native to the area you are going to - don't just assume because you haven't seen any. :) Good thinking. I'll let the husband do that - I might get nervous if I know what's ...

I let my dogs run off leash in the mountains, However, we have 100's of 1000's of acres of BLM and Natl forest surrounding us. and I never let my dogs run of leash in campgrounds, rec areas, or major trails. I intentionally pick very secluded (usually places that require 4WD to access) places to le...
