Re: how much do you feed your dog per feeding?

Charlotte(who is a 15 pound dachshund) is fed half cup in the AM and half a cup in the PM.

Kaia(who is a 40 pound Boxer mix) gets one cup in the AM and half a cup in the PM.

Tank(who is an 80 pound Great Pyrenees/Lab mix) gets one and half cup in the AM and one cup in the PM.

Re: Barking and snarling...what do you think?

I find this very interesting as Mya(who was very DA) never made a sound and was completely silent. She never barked or growled at dogs even while on a leash. She would just watch the other dogs every move and if she got close to them, she would immediately attack them. If she was off leash with them...

Re: California Natural vs. Fromm

I currently feed my dogs Fromm Four Star(I have for two years) and they have done wonderful on it. Firm poops, shiny coats, and all around very healthy. It is the only food Charlotte(she has skin and digestive issues) does well on. I can not really think of anything bad about.

Re: Flirt Pole training

:goodpost:

In all honesty, the flirt pole and the spring pole actually helped my dog aggressive American Bully Mya. She let all her frustrations out on the spring pole or flirt pole and afterwords it made her much less excited and more calm.

Re: Tick prevention

Frontline Plus or K9 Advantix 2 seem to work the best for me when it comes to ticks. Living out in the country we have ticks and fleas really bad so flea and tick prevention is a must for my dogs.

What type of dog food/diet do you feed your dogs?

I was wondering out of curiosity what do you feed your dogs? I currently feed Tank, Charlotte and Kaia Fromm Four Star Grain Free Game Bird recipe. They also get fish oil and glucosamine everyday and Vitamin E every other day. Charlotte and Kaia have been on Fromm Four Star for a year now and they a...

Re: Aggressive behavior, what to do?

True, but I would never trust her loose with another dog again. To me, it doesn't sound like the OP is asking for that. It sounds like he wants to be be able to walk his dog like a normal person and have the dog behave. A reasonable thing to want. I don't give a crap how DA a dog is, it can be taug...

Re: Thinkin' bout switchin' from Evo to Orijen

Fromm is what I feed my dogs and they are doing wonderful on it! It really just depends on your dog and what food works best for them. I went though several different brands of dog foods until I found what worked best for my dogs which was Fromm.

Re: Nature's Variety (or TOTW)

It really just depends on the dog and trying different dog foods and see what works best for YOUR dog. Every dog is different and some brands of dog foods work better for certain dogs than for others. :) We had to try out several different dog foods until we found a food that agreed with Charlotte o...

Re: Shelters: ALTER YOUR DOGS before adopting!

The shelter I adopted Tank from in Horn Lake, MS does nothing with their dogs they adopt out. They are not wormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered or anything. The real crappy thing is that TONS of Pit bulls are taken in by that shelter and adopt out unaltered and they will basically just adopt out to a...

Re: Feeding Raw

My dogs would LOVE whole prey like rabbits or guinea pigs from that site! I might consider getting them some of those someday. I think I could feed something like that as long as I just separate my self from the fact that I once owned both of those types of animals as pets and that it is something t...

Re: Saying hello and asking for advice

Welcome to the PBF! x2 to what everyone else said. No more toys or anything that triggers him to want to act aggressive towards the other dogs need to be out when he is around other dogs. If you can not trust other people to do that than he does not need to be around other dogs with them. Just a rem...

Re: I know my dog would refuse to "use" this.

That product is a bit disturbing. 8l Your dog would sure get a lot of looks from people with that thing on and I am sorry that is just plain lazy to have use one of those things. Plus, I do not know any dog that would let that thing be attached to their butt. The weird things people come up with the...

Re: Resource guarding

Thank you Stormi! That makes a lot of sense and will pass this along to the other people at the Humane Society as I would like to work with him on this behavior as it is not a good behavior to have whenever he is adopted(as that is common behavior dogs are returned for).

Re: Resource guarding

I have a question about one of our dogs at the Humane Society. JW is a lab mix and he is very possessive of toys. If you try to take his toy away from him(which we have to do because they are not allowed toys inside their kennels when they have a kennelmate) he will try to bite you and has bitten pe...
