Re: Fish oil suppliment

I purchase Salmon Oil by the gallon through eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Salmon-Oil-1gal-Fresh-Premium-Alaskan-Wild-Omega-3-EFA_W0QQitemZ170367096282QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item27aaab95da&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262#ht_2431wt_943" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; We h...

Re: Music soothes the savage beast?

Thanks for the replies everyone. Leslie, what is the store's name? I'll give Nancy a call and see what she thinks. On paper, I think the Dog Laughter CD should work, assuming that the sound is a "calming signal". Instead of visual cues, the CD just uses sound. If I buy the CD, I'll post my...

Music soothes the savage beast?

Let me nip this in the bud before I get flamed for the title, the only thing my dogs savage are their dinners. I was curious if anyone here used "music" to calm their dogs. PeTalk sells a Laughing Dog CD which they claim helps dogs calm down (see this article: http://www.petalk.org/Laughin...

I buy Bravo! (http://www.bravorawdiet.com/) pre-made raw from my dog's school for Ruca. We originally had her on the raw chicken backs but she ended up being allergic to chicken. I've been very happy with the Bravo! so far. However, it's a lot more expensive than the raw chicken backs ($18 vs $55-$6...

If you have a butcher shop near you, see if they carry chicken backs. My butcher sells a 30lb case of whole chicken backs for $16 and $18 for 30lbs of ground. A case lasts one of my dogs a month. Keep in mind that you have to add vegetables, organ meats etc.

We actually had to deal with this recently when our old man passed two months ago . Magoo was also 11 and survived an adrenal tumor bursting from three years ago. This past Christmas, his health started going downhill. He experienced muscle loss, vomiting, loss of appetite, water retention, etc. All...

Magoo (he's I think 11 or 12 now) had an adrenal tumor that burst while we were on the way home from a road trip. He started vomiting all over the back of the truck and when we took him out, he couldn't even stand on his feet. He was pale and gray. We rushed him to the E-vet where he diagnosed with ...

I'm not sure exactly what Rose ears are but I was told Ruca had them. This is Ruca around the same age as your puppy: http://iamlouie.com/main.php/d/117720-2/Dogs026.jpg and this is a more recent shot of her: http://iamlouie.com/main.php/d/117927-2/Dogs090.jpg The way her ears move when she's walkin...

BARF - Feeding ground chicken back vs whole chicken backs

I recently switched my dogs from Wellness Super5Mix and Wellness Core to BARF. My butcher has 30lb cases of chicken backs available in whole ($16/case) and ground ($18/case). I bought the case of ground chicken backs for convenience purposes. I figured it would be easier to store and serve. One of t...

My butcher has ground and whole chicken backs available in 30lb cases. The ground chicken back is only $2 more than the whole chicken backs and for convenience purposes, I bought the ground. The ground chicken backs are easier to store since the case came with 8 relatively square bags of the meat an...

Check with your local butcher if they carry cases of frozen chicken backs. The ground chicken backs I buy come in separate plastic bags, so it's almost like buying a big tube of pre-made raw. My local butcher sells a 30LB case of ground chicken backs for $18 and whole chicken backs for $16.

I feed the Super5Mix White Fish mix and have never noticed any bones. I grabbed a handful just now and didn't see any pieces of bone when compared to the scoop of kibble he used had a ton of fish bones. This still makes me a little paranoid/weary though.

Hill's Prescription Diet i/d vs Wellness Senior Food

Our 11 year old, Magoo, has been having problems keeping his food down (Wellness Core) lately. He's been to the Vet and he checks out normal. The Vet put him on canned Hill's Prescription Diet i/d because its easily digestible and he's managed to keep the food down. We were thinking of moving him pe...

Our senior pit (about to turn 11) had a tumor removed 2.5 years ago from his adrenal gland. He's eyes have been really goopy the past few weeks but I think it's just the change in the weather.

It could also be an allergy, have you tried giving him some benadryl?
