Re: Stormy is sick

I'm going to go ahead and make a new thread in the Gallery section to post pictures in as she heals. I took a few just a bit ago to show you guys how it looks.

Re: Stormy is sick

Stormy is feeling pretty good today. She was hanging out near the door even though she'd already been out to potty which is her way of letting me know it's time for walkies. I figured it wouldn't be too good of an idea to go walking in our usual places because of the weeds and sticks so we got in th...

Re: Stormy is sick

Thanks Starr! She's a little more perky right now, Jake shredded a little of that beef roast Grannie sent down for her with a fork and hand fed it to her so she wouldn't have to get up and move around. She ate about half of what he offered, and turned her nose up when he tried to give her more. She ...

Re: Stormy is sick

We just got home a little bit ago. :yipee: We went yesterday for the ultrasound, Dr McReynolds found her spleen right away, on the ultrasound machine her spleen was enormous and all of the space inside of it was what he called "starry night", it was black with white fuzz almost like a tv g...

Re: Stormy is sick

I spoke with some family, we're getting a loan for the Ultrasound! Stormy goes in on Friday morning at 10:30. I'm going ahead with the ultrasound, that way we'll know one way or another what the mass is, and what can or can not be done about it. I'm excited, this is the first reasonably hopeful news...

Stormy is sick

I haven't been around much at all lately but I thought I should pop in here and let you guys know about Stormy. Stormy went to the vet this morning after we discovered she had a hard spot in her insides over the weekend. The vet says it's either a Hemangiosarcoma or a Hemangioma, he said he was lean...

Re: Dominance behaviors towards humans...?

Wow, I feel special, not every day I get a thread resurrected lol Loki has been doing much MUCH better on the behavior business. Things were very screwy when she started doing the humping and being a pushy pain in the neck, so we can safely assume that it was stress related. Loki has been spending m...

Re: Ringworm

We fostered a couple of kittens who brought it in, Stormy is everyone's momma and of course got it bad, then we both got it too. The creams and crap the vet and the doctors gave us wasn't working on Stormy or us, but the over the counter athletes foot cream worked wonders on the kittens, go figure. ...

Re: Yearly checkup, registration...am I paying too much $$$?

We don't have annual registration fees. We paid I think $5 or so the first year we had her and since she is spayed, we never have to pay again. I wanna live where you live! Here it's ritualistic rape. 4 neutered/spayed adult dogs, fully vaccinated, no Dangerous Dog stuff, no extra garbage just a 1 ...

Re: The return of the rash

Looking a lot better today. Still obviously not healthy, the patch on her neck is still raised as is the majority of the affected area on her belly and in her armpits. The color is still a pretty even slightly rosy peach but not quite as red as yesterday. The stink is now gone thank god. She's still...

Re: The return of the rash

It's a bit better today, not a whole lot but improvement is always welcome with nasties. It's not so angry looking, where it was evil bright red it's gone more peachy, the spots that were weepy are scabbing up. Looking like it may even be gone by our appointment on Wednesday. I almost didn't post ab...

The return of the rash

Loki's rash is back... Again. We've been giving Chlorpheniramine Maleate Tabs with crazy success since the vet prescribed them along with antibiotics at our first visit for the rash. Up until the last two times she's gotten it the rash went away within a day or two of giving her the Chlor Tabs. Last...

Re: Dog Warts

Stormy has one just like that on her chest, it's about the same size and shape even. We had no idea what it was. Stormy also gets little cysts under her skin constantly, we're talking two or three on a good month, so we just squeezed it like the vet told us to do with the cysts to see if it would po...

Re: Dog bite puncture wounds

Try to keep the amount of ointment to a minimum, especially with Neosporin and ointments with a similar consistency. A lot of the time we think "more is better" and glob ointment onto a wound. This can be especially dangerous with puncture wounds as a thick layer of ointment essentially tu...

Re: WARNING: DOG PORNOGRAPHY - Lady Parts - Swollen/Red

Amen to the time to see a vet. That looks like an infection to me, Chino gets them in that area about once a year and it always takes a vet visit to get them to go away. Until it's time for her appointment you can wipe the area down very Gently with a warm wash cloth and no soap when it seems to be ...
