Re: What food nowadays

I am using Beaverdam Hi Pro. It is fairly local. No Chinese ingredients, the dogs love it and their coats and energy level say it's a good food

Re: My dog needs help and the vets around here are worthless.

I would keep vetting vets...you have had your share of incompetents. There has to be a decent vet somewhere near you, ask around , who do your friends use?

It sure would be nice if Miss Kiwi would come back for medical direction...

Re: Odd Behavior, need advice, please..

Dogs can absolutely become depressed. A walk through any shelter will show you enough proof of that. This could be depression, but I don't think it is something that can be determined on a forum. Does your wife pay attention to her when she comes home? I know this post is months old, but I am curiou...

Re: Help needed ASAP

I, for one, believe your assumption is correct. Very few dogs would feel comfortable with a stranger attempting to alpha roll them...which is a ridiculous move under any circumstances. You should consult a behaviorist rather than a "trainer" for a behavior issue.

Re: Negative Reinforcement

Likewise, positive is to add and punishment reduces behavior, so positive punishment is something added to the environment that decreases a behavior. . Under that definition, would a motion activated sprinkler in your garden be positive punishment?...to keep said critter out or a vibration mat left...

Re: This seems like a crazy question to ask, but....

I would run as far away from this place as possible. Me too! Not only because of the dominance rubbish he was spouting, but because you're dog clearly didn't like whatever vibe the guy was putting out. Over the years I've learned that if my dog doesn't like someone, they're usually right. X2 This h...

I have seen dogs be okay after fights, however it greatly varies from dog-dog, sometimes they'll get along but the triggers are much easier set off.
