Re: Raw Diets for Dogs with cancer

i would recommend the RAW diet. if nothing else, because it will (most likely) be a special meal for your guy if he's used to eating kibble. dogs won't always have much appetite when going through chemo, so anything you can do to get him to eat is a good thing.

Re: Lymph node?

i believe the dogs' lymphnodes are under their jaw - not on the side of their head. however, if it were me, and it is a swollen lymphnode that has not gone down by tomorrow, i would take him to the vet. **hopefully** it's nothing, and i'm not trying to scare you, but a sudden, noticeably enlarged ly...

Re: Puppy's first heat cycle

might be if she hasn't had a bath and is still "coming out." that wouldn't worry me too much. is there any chance she could be pregnant? sometimes bred bitches don't "unswell" until after they whelp. i've had many an oldtimer tell me that's one of the things they look for, and i'...

Re: Worn nails - walking mostly on concrete

ditto! when i used to jog with casino every day i didn't cut his nails for years, and they were nails any show person would envy! nor did he have any hair between his pads. sadly, gone are both my right knee, and the days when i could scoff at all the time the show people put into dremmeling nails a...

Re: Raw Feeding: Charcoal Denatured Meats

personally, have been a member of a few RAW lists over time, and part of many more discussions on the subject, i think that in any venue, you will have those people who are happy with nothing less than the extreme . unless you're growing your own food and butchering it yourself, or maybe if you shop...

using that chain that way won't give you the benefits that you're looking for. if you want to build neck/shoulders, get him a springpole.

i treated an adult stray with an advanced case last summer. having never dealt with it before, i wasn't sure what to expect. i found that keeping the dog in a 10x10 for most of the day allowed him to stretch his legs a little, and gave him free access to water (they also put him on prednizone) but k...

Thank you ladies! Wahoo is my 4 1/2 year old Dutch Shepherd. He is my shadow, my four extra legs, and is also my working boy - he is a SAR dog. That photo of him in my avatar happens to be a day when he met a skunk - and lost. ok - totally OT - sorry, but i also have a 4 year old long-haired, brind...

red - NC

'red' was found by a vet tech who works at our vet's office. we think he had been dumped out on a country road, for who-knows-what reason. red is house trained, crate trained, gets along with cats and other dogs (at this point) as well as children, adults of both sexes, and elderly people. from all ...
