Re: Dog snapped dew claw in half

I never really knew dogs could tear their dew claws like that. Neither did I, til now. He's doing better today. He never acted like it even bothered him, except for wanting to lick it right after it happened. I put some ointment on it, tried to tape it (but he would have none of that) and it looks ...

Dog snapped dew claw in half

I was playing fetch with Bosley and he snapped his dew claw in half somehow! It's still attached... just kind of hanging by the quick at a 90 degree angle... He didn't give any indication he was hurt, and still wanted me to throw the ball. I just happened to look down and see some blood in the dirt ...

How long has he been on heartworm prevention in total? How long on the Advantage Multi? He's been on it for about a year. His foster family got him last summer and had him until I brought him home in September. He was on Revolution with them, and then the vet said she didn't like Revolution so I sw...

IF you have had him on prevenative ALL year and has vet records to prove it (reciepts and whatever they need) some companies will PAY for the treatment. And yes..had you popped that monthly hw pill in his head it could of been fatal. Be sure to have a re test to confirm that postitive before doing ...

Boz has heartworms! Am I overreating at the clinic mix-up?

The vet never called me about the HW + results and never would have if I had not seen the file myself over the counter. I am switching vets I'm so pissed off and having his HW treatment done at the new clinic. Am I over-reacting? Some background: Boz got some routine blood work and yearly heartworm ...

My terriers skip breakfast about half the time, but they've always been like that. I think if he is still eating a big evening meal and acting ok otherwise he might just be not hungry in the morning.

Btw, he is a handsome boy :inlove:

Dairy can make upset the stomach of dogs, that is true. If you are asking what other oils, other than cod liver, to get omega 3 fatty acids from, you could try salmon oil, it doesn't have as strong an odor. I also found a sardine-anchovy oil blend online that is "unscented" (it doesn't hav...

Hip x-rays aren't painful, but they're uncomfortable, as the dog needs to lay completely still w/their hind legs spread. Most dogs won't put up w/it, and if they're not completely still, and positioned correctly, the x-rays are useless. lol, that's the way Boss lounges half the time. If he ever nee...

Ewwwww when he cut his own finger! That was unnecessary. Is the guy a weirdo? Yes probably, but it's a valid concern about the food nevertheless. But when he talked about inspecting every piece of kibble before feeding to his dog I thought "You still fed it to your dog?!"

So I finally got all the ash, calcium and phosphorous info from the food companies. I am gathering here that the "goal" is to get as much protein from the food as possible while minimizing as much as you can the amounts of fat, overall ash, calcium and phosphorous (as well as other mineral...
