I switched Rex to pro plan, it seems to be good food, and its not that expensive either. i sell this food at my store and i would never reccomend it. there are worse .. but there are also far better for a better price that arent owned by Nestle talk to a local holistic vet, and or go to more than o...

yes, pedigree is that bad .. and yes its a mystery how dogs can seem healthy for years on such foods.. one thing to keep in mind is feeding guidelines, most of the low end or even mid end foods are far too low in calories (like nutro natural choice) often times the high end foods are cheaper to feed...

Depends on the dog and the situation :dunno: i was only teasing about the flexis ;) but now that i think about it .. many dogs are slightly nervous with cords and and things that move on thier own etc. this dog wont go out of nerves regarding some random quality of being on leash, so a limp long ny...

my dog has ichthyosis .. it doesnt sound like this is exactly the same symptoms, but its something i didnt hear of for years and might help you narrow it down btw, if you do read up on it .. my dog hasnt gotten worse with age as it states .. im not sure why, but its consistent and maintaining a gene...

Although people might shoot me for suggesting so, we will often use a flexi for those shy dogs who don't like to poop on a leash ;) :bully: flexis are the work of the devil! ;) ;) that is a really good suggestion ... but i do have an alternate and i think superior suggestion. a training lead (20-30...

a vet selling food is a conflict of interest. think about it .. if you had diabetes, would you buy precooked - packaged food from your family doctor? when was the last time your vet told you to "feed fresh foods in a wide variety" .. thats what our doctors tell us. im assuming if do...

btw .. what kibble are you feeding? not all grainless or "natural, holistic" kibbles are equal in the slightest and also .. the glucosamine and chondroitin in processed kibble are more of a "preventative" approach. if your dog has joint issues you would most certainly have...

That's glad to hear. The muscle tone loss could be from switching from a 30/20 food to a 26/18 food. But I do like the byproduct grain free food because of the ingredients and that it has glucosamine and condronamin (sp) in it. Omega 3 and 6, flax seed oil and yucca extract in it. I guess I will ha...

i may sound stupid .. but are we sure its not fleas>? you could have an unnoticed flea problem that may be the result of this. animals usually start at the base of their tail and work down with over-grooming. some dogs with already sensitive / short coats can loose hair quit quickly without the care...

most dogs have an end to a growth spirt at 6-8 months and again at 12-18 months depending on breed. this seems normal to me to have a month or so lag around 6 months with a pit bull. after they are done growing (which inst necessarily that much weight more than your girl) they will put on muscle whi...

switch the food, and or try fish, hemp or flax oil.

those are the only quick recommendations other than a pro biotic / digestive enzyme regime with a decent food. (wich i think blue buffalo is... by memory without looking at ingredients)

i would rather see rice than corn - rice has a better animo acid profile and better gylcemic index, plus its lower in protein than corn (therefore cormeal foods depend on corn for protein more than foods with ground corn and even more than ground rice in the same spot on the ingredient list.) and i ...
