Re: Perfect (to me) Feeding Bowl/Dish

LOL... A couple of mine have been using metal pie plates for years... I knew I was never going to use them for pies!

Twice a day Dallas gets Blue Buffalo LB Puppy in his crate and Genevieve gets the same, plus some salmon oil to help her shoddy coat. The rest of the dogs get Diamond Natural Chicken & Rice once a day: Billy in the bedroom because he's a slow eater, Delilah in a bedroom or crate because she's fo...

Branson, MO dogs needing foster/forever homes

Here are most of my dogs that need foster or forever homes. Roger: 1 y/o male American bulldog/pit bull mix. Neutered and UTD on vaccinations. Weighs about 100 lbs. VERY energetic and playful. Good with dogs, cats, and kids. http://i456.photobucket.com/albums/qq282/southerncomfort1125/P13174553.jpg ...

Re: She killed a puppy

We had several lengthy discussions about how Tinkerbell is not a mean dog... dogs just do weird things sometimes... and I think he understands. He means well but does not understand dog behaviour at all... I will just have to be vigilant and keep an eye on him.

Re: She killed a puppy

I want her to go back to him since they are so bonded to one another and because I know how much of a liability she could be in the possession of someone I don't know as well. She's a gorgeous dog and I could adopt her out again easy, but I don't trust people. At least when she's with him, I can kee...

Re: She killed a puppy

He texted me last night and told me that he misses her and can't sleep without her and that he wants her back, but can't trust her. I told him no, you can't trust any dog... if he takes her back he cannot leaver her unsupervised with another dog for a second.

Re: She killed a puppy

Thanks guys. I don't blame Tinkerbell... it's not fair to expect her to behave like anything other than a dog.

Re: She killed a puppy

I don't know. I t sounds fishy to me too. The puppy was a 7-8 week old catahoula/beagle mix and was pretty tiny. I asked a friend who had done pit bull rescue for years and she thought maybe since Tinkerbell was probably bred more than once before I got her (drug dealer's dog), that maybe something ...

She killed a puppy

My friend J adopted a 70 pound female Am staff from me several months ago. J and Tinkerbell bonded very closely and she became the love of his life, second only to his daughter. Last night, J brought Tinkerbell back to me because she killed and ate an 8 week old puppy that he was watching for a frie...

Re: Found a new training treat

Thanks! I'll look into it for myself, but in my training class I have to use/endorse treats sold at Petco... otherwise I'm not helping my employer make any money, which doesn't help me :)

Re: What do you feed your dog?

I used to feed Natural Balance duck & potato, but it's too expensive to feed to 12 dogs. I'm now feeding Diamond Natural chicken & rice... I can get a 40# bag for $35 at my local feed store.

As much as I would like to incorporate raw/BARF, it's just not practical for me.

Re: Found a new training treat

OOOPS! I posted that before I was done!

I was going to say that I would like to use a soft natural treat, but they're just so darn expensive. Maybe I can get the NB rep to hook me up with some Training Tips.

Re: Found a new training treat

We have the Little Stars at my Petco... Guess I'll have to try them. A sales rep gave me a bunch of pumpkin & blueberry Fruitables and my heathens love them... my sister and I even ate one and decided that they wouldn't be half bad with a little vanilla frosting :mmm: In my training class we nor...
