Re: Good Lord, anything else at this time?

I've been M.I.A. from the forum for a while and have no idea who Zoey is  . . . but I just sent a small contribution via Paypal. Val, I'm sorry it couldn't be more, but hopefully everyone's contributions will add up quickly.

Re: Damage to Foster Homes

Thanks Jamie and Ana. I figured as much . . . but I wanted to check before I assumed that's what everyone did. Does anyone know of organizations that do otherwise or is this the general consensus? Yea, Ana . . . it wouldn't be such a sticky hypothetical situation if it were items more easily repaire...

Re: Damage to Foster Homes

Imagine the hypothetical dog ruined several pieces of furniture, peed on a mattress, etc. I'd always imagined that a situation such as this wouldn't fall a back on the organization . . . but then again if the damage did in any case get to such a high monetary value then it seems to get tricky. I won...

Damage to Foster Homes

At our upcoming officer meeting, we are going to revisit our foster contract to get some policies in place regarding any damages done to a foster parents home caused by the foster dog. I'd just like to hear what your policies are regarding this and if you've ever had any issues that have come up due...

Re: Adoption Events

We've changed the title of our adoption events to "open houses" becasue we don't do same day adoptions anyway. We've been the most successful having our open houses outside in front of a few popular locally owned pet supply stores. The streets these shops are on have very high foot traffic...

Re: Does your rescue/shelter offer sales?

We don't, but we're a pretty small scale rescue with about 6 dogs at a time.

I've heard of it before at large shelters . . . I'd be curious to hear how some shelter workers say it works (or doesn't work).

Re: Thought of this question and was curious....

Saint eats twice a day: in the mornings generally around when we're getting ready for work and sometime in the afternoon/evening after his walk. Not set times per say, but they generally end up being around the same hour or so. I like not keeping a rigid time becasue on the weekends he'll let us sle...

Re: To neuter or not..

I rescued Saint (from an interesting rescue) when he was 5 months old. He was "returned" and was originally adopted out at 8 weeks old, right after his neuter. I personally think 8 weeks is ridiculously early, but that situation was beyond my control. He's going to be 3 years old in Novemb...

Re: Tristan chokes on water

I don't know if it would help or not, but my initial thought was to see if he'd drink out of one of those inverted water dispensers (a bigger version of what hamsters drink from). Maybe that would slow him down more than your usual drinker and might help? :dunno: Just a thought.

She is quite the looker too. She's one of the newer girls and I've only met her once as well. She's a little wiggle worm who didn't want to pose for a good photo last week. lol

(Oh, I saw a dog that looked exactly like Booker the other day btw.)
