Re: Leash Help.

Here's another thread that shows a halter that may help you. If the dog starts to lunge or pull, they are kinda thrown off balance and it helps to break their attention from whatever they are chasing. http://www.pitbullforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=128720 I USE to have one of these but my dog ...

Leash Help.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good, STRONG lead for my game bred APBT. He doesn't pull until he sees another dog he trys to eliminate the dog regardless of size or temperament. I try to be safe with him and I don't want him snapping his lead. I would like one that is more comfortable for...

Re: A question.

at 14 WEEKS old she should not be doing high impact anything while her joints are growing. a springpole is NOT good for her until her joints stop growing or you will risk the chance of damaging her joints.. normal walks, playtime, nothing too strenous should be done now. all puppies are crazy hyper,...

Re: A question.

Oh yeah, just to add on, my treadmill is a new model and so soon at someone or the dog gets to the back of it it kicks off. I hate it because if they are running slower it turns off but they can't hurt themselves sliding off the back and there isn't anything behind or around it to get hurt on. Also,...

Re: A question.

But it's motorized, right? So that means it's either off and not working, or it's "forced" in that you don't really know when she's done, she has to keep going until you stop it, or possibly injure herself getting off while it's still going. I'd let her on it for VERY short periods - not ...

A question.

Is it okay to let my 14 week old on the treadmill? She is driving me crazy, I mean she is very hyper. I know she is just a pup and that adds to it but I didn't know if physically its okay to have her on it. She has been trained on it already and doesn't mind it. She doesn't need coxing or a leash sh...

Re: "Puppy Problems HELP"

Absolute Peril, are you willing to meet with a behavior consultant to get an understanding of what is happening? If you are interested let me know and I'll send you the contact for two people. One is two hours from you and the other about one hour, going by mapquest. Sure, if I have time I...

Re: "Puppy Problems HELP"

HA dogs are due to bad breeding of genetics. bybs contribute to this.. if your new pup is acting like this now at this young age, you should contact the breeder (who hopefully was reputable) and discuss the temperment and options with them. giving a vet or vet tech 3 stitches is not really great.. ...

Re: "Puppy Problems HELP"

I read that you got your pup at 11 weeks and he is now 3 months old. Does that mean you have only had him a week or two? Maybe there is just too much stimuli in the new home. I was referred to the shut down thread (give em a break 2 weeks) maybe you should try this. Lets see what others say first. ...

Re: OFFICIAL e-collar debate thread

For me an E-Collar would be a last resort. I do use some corrections in training but I don't think I could shock my dogs. I think it can work and I think it can be misused just like any tool like a choke chain or prong collar. Just my opinion.

Re: "Puppy Problems HELP"

I just don't want another HA and DA dog; I have one don't need two and If I had it my way I wouldn't have one. In my unprofessional opinion, if you really wanted a dog with no DA or HA you would have gotten an older dog, not a puppy, and possibly a different breed, since even older pit bulls can tu...
