Re: Thinkin' bout switchin' from Evo to Orijen

I fed Regional Red last month and Xen really liked it. She ate enthusiastically, but less and didn't lose or gain a significant amount of weight. I switched to TOTW this month, but I plan to switch back after this bag is finished. A 15 lb bag of RR was $60, incl tax, but Xen's also an only child so ...

Re: Feeding Raw

For those who are vegetarian/vegan, how do you get over the 'oh my god, body parts :yucky: ' hump? Xen isn't fed raw right now, but once we move I hope to switch her back over to it. Both my boyfriend and I are vegetarian, and I used to live in a vegan house (and thankfully none of my room mates ha...

Re: Let's Talk Vomit

I agree with the empty-stomach assertion. Xen also does this. No food, sometimes grass, just bile. Like clockwork, if she's gone maybe 10 hours without food. She'll usually vomit twice, and I'll give her a handful of kibble (if it's super early in the morning) or her regular meal.

Re: Allergens in the fall?

Yup Xen is definitely more itchy-scratchy in the fall. At a certain point in late September, she starts to sort of break out, bumps show up all over. It sucks, but the combination of Benadryl and keeping her as active as possible stops the scratching.

Re: New grain-free dog food!

Hm. Does it come in smaller quantities?

I'm hesitant to switch since the last time I did so, Xen broke out in hives, but I've tried all of the grain-free formulas my local pet store carries and would really like to try something besides TOTW.

Re: Taste of the Wild

There have been a lot of threads on this food recently (review wise) so you may want to do a search.

That being said, Xen is on this food, the salmon version, loves it and I love what it does for her. She's in great shape, not too thin not too 'shapely' and her coat is lustrous and soft.

Re: Ear issue

Maryellen- Yes, she has allergies. But once I changed to her food to TOTW salmon, she improved dramatically. She still may have airborne allergies, though. My ex's dog, Soda, came over recently, and Xen broke out into hives. She's better now, but the xen-allergy saga continues... Pblove- It us...
