Re: Piper snapped at someone today, What to do?

Thank y'all. I haven't been able to bring myself to post in the memorial section yet. It's still so raw and the pain almost unbearable. Our girl just turned 4 years old. It just seems so unfair.

Re: Piper snapped at someone today, What to do?

Thanks everybody. Piper lost her battle with cancer 2 weeks ago. When she came out of remission, the cancer became resistant to the chemo and we couldn't seem to slow it down. She went downhill very fast. We had to make the choice to end her suffering on Valentines day. Missing our sweet girl so muc...

Re: Piper snapped at someone today, What to do?

So sorry about Blanco. If you are trying to decided between chemo or no chemo, I would recommend chemo 110%. Piper's chemo side effects have been very, very minimal. It's worth it to gain more time with her while her still having great quality of life. There is a great yahoo group for dogs with lym...

Re: Piper snapped at someone today, What to do?

Thanks for the replies. I wish I had someone to come to house to look after the girls when we have to go out of town. I have tried to find some sort of pet sitter but just can't find one. None of our family or friends are able to either. Our vet is a very good friend of my husband's so I'm thinking ...

Re: Slightly Swollen Lymph Nodes-When to worry?

Right now! I know from experience, you don't want to wait when swollen lymphnodes are involved. God forbid, if it is something serious, like lymphoma, you want to know before she starts feeling bad. Hope it's nothing but for sure a trip to vet is needed.

Piper snapped at someone today, What to do?

A little background first. Piper has lymphoma and she is currently going through chemo(on our 6 month of treatment). This means she goes the vet every week to get poked and prodded. She is a staff favorite because she is such sweet, tolerant girl. Never ever gives any of the techs or Dr. any trouble...

Re: Lymphoma

Update on Piper. She is still in remission :yipee: She has 10 chemo treatments left. She has handled the chemo very well with very little side effects. We have had some skin issues due to her immune system being suppressed but those are starting to clear up. She feels great and is loving life. Here ...

Re: Wallace and Roo are having troubles...

Thanks, guys. We are devastated. He is doing well at the moment, but we know it could turn around. We're just hoping for a nice big chunk of time after his incision finally heals to spend some really fun, quality time with him before he slows down. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support. ...

Re: Lymphoma

Thank you! Y'all be safe as well! I hate hurricane season. I am freaking out a little bit because Piper's oncologist is in Mandeville(outside of NOLA) She has another treatment Thursday so I am hoping that Isaac doesn't mess that up!

Re: Lymphoma

Update on Piper. After a couple of talks with my regualr vet and our onco we decided to switch chemo protocols to the Madison Wisconson CHOP. The hubby and I feel better about this than the original plan of just a single chemo drug. She had her 3rd chemo treatment on Thursday. So far she is doing gr...

Re: Lymphoma

Feeling a little depressed and overwhelmed after Piper's second visit to the oncologist. At the first visit, they gave Piper Elspar. At this visit, she suggested we continue treatment with the CCNU protocol instead of the Wisconson protocol because some of her symptoms point to the lymphoma being in...

Thanks for thinking of us! Piper goes for her second chemo treatment tomorrow. We are both holding up ok. She tolerated her 1st round of chemo well so we hope that it stays that way.
