Re: New puppy- dog agression/ potty traning ???

Thanks, that was great advice Allison. I certianly plan on enrolling in puppy classes. The dog she is picking on is the younger, 3 1/2 y.o. female. She doesn't seem interested in the older one at all. You are aboslutely correct about them being individuals, so I have been taking that into account an...

Re: New puppy- dog agression/ potty traning ???

Yes I'd say you did misinterpret the puppy jumping on the dogs back in the yard. I clearly said she 'goes after' her in the yard. She did succeed jumping and biting her yesterday when throwing the frisbee. It had such an impact on me I came to ask for others advice, because it was a bad situation I'...

Re: New puppy- dog agression/ potty traning ???

I'm sorry if you misinterpreted that. Picks on and goes after does not depict succeeding. Yesterday with the toy she did and was removed. There is also a difference between discipline and not allowing socialization. I am nor ignorant nor irresponsible. I also have 2 horses and have trained 4 dogs in...

Re: New puppy- dog agression/ potty traning ???

As for potty training, you need to take her out more often, every hour if you can, after every meal, playtime, naps. Stay out until she goes and throw a party when she does. It takes consistency and some dogs take longer than others to learn it. Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2 Agreed...typica...

Re: New puppy- dog agression/ potty traning ???

Where did it appear I don't protect chaos? The post was so long I was tryin not to add too much detail, but they are only around each other supervised. The reason chaos doesn't do anything is becIse I am Protecting her. She knows I'll remove carrera, which I have been. I never just let her. I am alw...

Re: New puppy- dog agression/ potty traning ???

I am a firm believer in animals being family. I do fear however, that she will be dog aggressive and meant for an only dog home. I hope this is not the case and I am just doing something wrong, or need to try something different with her. I have never seen a 'worse' puppy. Neither of the others were...

Re: Dog covered in hives- help!

I did get a cal back from my vet. She said if the hives continue to get worse, take her to the emergency clinic to get an injection (cant remember what she said it was). Or just take her in the morning if they're still there for the injection. I am thinking its possibly poision ivy? I dont have anyt...

Dog covered in hives- help!

I have a white pit/am bulldog mix. She is very sensitive but has not had people food of any kind lately. She woke up with about 6-8 hives on her, mostly on her back legs. I gave her a small dose of benadryl and the ones that were there started to go away and some new ones appeared. hours later i gav...

Re: Should irrespondsible dog owners be charged w/ manslaughter?

For most instances I'd like to vote yes. If it is at any neglect or carelessness of the owner, they should be charged. I heard about a case where a neighbor with a young child had a bar b q, and the homeowner had their dog secured in an unfenced yard (tether, leash, etc). The child wandered into the...

Re: Chaos Lunging on walks

Excercise is limited. I really regret not having a backyard. She gets her 5 walks a day, maybe an hour all togehter.. but the only other thing we do daily is play inside. lots of fetch. ive trainer her to get the toy, run to the other room with it, run back and drop, and repeated over and over again...

Re: Chaos Lunging on walks

oK, I'm bumping this because Chaos was 10 months old when i posted. She will be 2 in October.. and still jumping. I dont have a yard for her to get the zoomies out, but we play inside and she still gets her walks. I stopped the excercise regiment, i know, she needs more excercise but it wasnt feasib...
