I can't say enough good things about TOTW! I feed my dogs that, and it has helped them immensely. I also feed it to my foster dogs :)

Re: Need help deciding on CCL surgery: what would you do?

What you're doing is great so far :) From my experience with Spud, he either blocked the pain out, or wasn't in that much pain at first. It was more off and on sore it seemed. The pain got worse over time (we had to wait almost three months to get the surgery), but he would still want to run and pla...

Re: Need help deciding on CCL surgery: what would you do?

Spud is 2 1/2, and had his first TPLO surgery last septmeber. He just had his second TPLO on his other leg two weeks ago. His first knee is completely back to 100%, it doesn't bother him except when it's really cold out. He's already thinking he's all better from surgery #2, almost always weight bea...

Re: Temperament Testing

The test I do is the following: 1)Response to strangers: a) have tester outside of room knock on the door, gauge dog's response. b) Tester comes into room and attempts to greet the dog, speaking in a high pitched voice and sitting down. Gauge dog's response. Does it want anything to do with tester, ...

Meet Mo! Minnesota - Twin Cities

Everyone meet Mo! My new foster dog. She was found this summer tied to a light pole near a vet's office. She was malnourished and had skin issues due to allergies. She was treated and adopted out, only to be returned the day after I got Butters because having a dog and children was "too much wo...

Re: Meet Butters! Minnesota - Twin Cities

Thank you very much :) I'm still frustrated and trying to figure how if there's a miracle that can get Bella with Butters, but I don't see it happening :( I do private fostering as well as foster for Unchained. Private meaning I will take in animals for people who cannot keep them in their current l...

Re: Meet Butters! Minnesota - Twin Cities

Yes, the little brindle girl in the first couple pictures! Well, it looks like Bella won't be getting adopted. I was watching her for someone who couldn't keep her where they were living. Turns out the lied to me about pretty much everything. Bella is NOT fixed, and is NOT up to date on shots. No wo...

Re: Meet Butters! Minnesota - Twin Cities

Butters has a home pending! The family came to my house to meet him, and it went great. We're hopefully doing a home check this weekend and bringing Butters (and possibly Bella!) with. If all goes well he may stay there when we're done with the home check. Bella too! If they decide to adopt her too,...

Meet Butters! Minnesota - Twin Cities

This is my foster dog, Butters. http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/Laiinkyree/CIMG2795.jpg http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/Laiinkyree/CIMG3061.jpg He's estimated at 2-3 years old. He was pulled from a shelter when his time was up. We've had him for about 3 1/2 weeks so far. He's a littl...

Re: Torn CCL Sugury-what to expect

Weird...when Spud tore his CCL, the vet told us about the two surgeries they could do. the fishing-line one, and the TPLO. They told me they wouldn't recommend the fishing-line one to a pit bull, as they could easily rip it and be back to square one. o.O

Re: Gee what a surprise. It's Spud again :(

Talked to the vet again this morning. Before bringing him in, since I have the pills they would recommend for him anyways, we're going to do the two weeks of strict rest to see if it gets better. I have a weeks' worth of pills left, so at the end of the week I can just go in and they'll give me anot...

Re: Gee what a surprise. It's Spud again :(

We started giving him his pain killers we had left from before again. (We went to Vet #1 at the very beginning of his leg thing, then switched to vet #2 who gave us a new prescription of the same stuff. We called the vet to ask if it was okay for him to take what we had left, and they said yes.) The...

Gee what a surprise. It's Spud again :(

Apparently Fate, or Mother Nature has it in for Spud and me. He is almost finished with his recovery period from TPLO surgery on his right hind leg. As in, this was his last week before returning to no restrictions. Unfortunately, thanks to the surgery/recovery time, and some idiot friends of my bro...
