Dog wounded Gotti

Hey, So a friend of mine was walking Gotti on campus and this white Samoyed attacked Gotti and he now has a bite mark on his neck. It was bleeding earlier today and it I can easily see the area where he was bit. I was really ticked off because this guy lets his dog run around on the quad without a l...

Goat's milk?

Does anyone give their dogs Goat's Milk? I have heard from other people that it is great for their dogs and very nutritional. I gave it to Gotti and he loved it but his stomach did not like it as much. He diahhrread in my friend's apartment, something he has not done since he was about 12 weeks old....

Gotti has a growth on his lower lip...

Gotti has a growth getting bigger on his lower lip. It looks like a big pimple and it has been getting bigger over the past week. He has been acting strange lately and I am wondering if this could have anything to do with the growth? Also, is it ok to put human contact solution in his eye if it is r...

Dogy clothes in the winter?

Is it necessary to get clothes for your Pit? I don't think it is necessary but I have seen a lot of dogs with little hoodies.

Re: Neutered or Natural?

Also, to dragynflye, Boxer's are one of the most expensive dogs to own. They have a wide array of health issues and their medical bills certainyl rack up. I am in an Insurance class here at my University and I was fortunate enough to speak with the president of the VPI Animal Insurance company. I wo...

Re: Neutered or Natural?

I am really going to have to agree with 'braciole' on this one. I looked through the information on my own as well as talk to some professors of animal science at my school. Essentially, spay or neutering is to help control the population because of irresponsible owners. The study I looked at was ex...

Also, when I changed his food I didn't ween him. He transitioned fine, no runny feces or anything.

Re: Decided on food change. Ween or not Ween?

Good choice on the Wellness Super5Mix! I have been feeding this to Gotti since he was 9 weeks! His skin and coat look great. I almost made the same mistake of buying the 'large breed' formula but APBT are essentially, medium size dogs. The bag is yellow and I am sure your puppy will love you for fee...

Neutered or Natural?

Here is the big question! Have you neutered your dog? That time is coming around for Gotti and we are unsure of whether or not to neuter him. We have been pressure from the vet but we really believe she is just pressuring us because she really seems to charge a lot of money even for basic visit! I h...

Eye Infection

Gotti looks like he has an eye infection. One of his eyes is extremely red and has a liquid discharge. We're not sure if he needs to see a vet or if there is any type of eye drop we can get for him at the pet store. Does anyone have any prior experience with this??

Re: Dog Cologne/ Deodorant, good or bad?

I feed him Wellness Super5Mix Puppy food. He has been doing really well with it. I started using "Spectrum Laboratories" professional pet grooming products, (Amazoats) It is OAT Shampoo Concentrate. I dont know why he begins to smell so bad so quickly after his bath. The scent of the deodo...

Dog Cologne/ Deodorant, good or bad?

So we just purchased some dog deodorant for Gotti. For some reason, he begins to smell really really bad a few days after his bath and I am using a very high quality dog shampoo. Does anyone have suggestions if I should use this or stop? I do not want him to have any skin problems. I groom and brush...

Puppy afraid of food!

We have never had a problem feeding Gotti. He's always had a strong appetite however, in the last few days it seems as if he is afraid of his food! He creeps up to his food bowl then will jump back as if he thinks the food is alive. So we tried feeding it out of our hands and he'd eat a little then ...

Re: Red spots on his belly...

Hey,

Thanks for all the help. After we took him out of the grass and kept him inside for a few days the rash went away. It looked kind of like hives almost so maybe it is just the grass at my home. He is doing much better now. It could have been the fertilizer or something. Thanks again!
