Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

I am the one who dropped her off and the vet never said a word about pre-anesthetic blood work. How about when the appointment was originally made/scheduled? I've always been asked about pre-anesthetic bloodwork, and the last time I opted for it, I actually had to sign a form and circle "yes&q...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

I am the one who dropped her off and the vet never said a word about pre-anesthetic blood work. She is doing better. She was raising hell at about 3 AM and it took 3 of us to hold her and help her have a BM. She had very dark, pudding like poop. It was quite bad. She didn't poop a whole lot but it w...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

Well she is eating a can of dog food in about 2 minutes and her head is much much much more steady. Before when she would lift her head it was like she had Parkinson's or something. Now her head is much more steady. She is trying to walk she will flip around and has a little control of her front fee...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

UPDATE: she ate a can of food this morning and ate some for lunch. She just got her medicine. After we fed her, I syringed a little pedialyte in her mouth and once she got licking I offered her the bowl of it and she lapped some up. We have already noticed her head is not as shaky as it was when she...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

You know, we have never had complications from ear crops before. The father of all of our dogs Brutus didn't have problems, Widow and Rex didn't have problems and this vet did Rex's ears. Ok another update. I did a follow up with a vet over here and he put her on a diuretic (can't recall the name ri...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

UPDATE: My dad got up at 430 and she was stirring and she got really excited and was wagging her tail and very lively compared to how she has been and she was trying to move around and stand up. I mixed up some more food and water and Karo for her and she took 40 cc's. I am going to get some Science...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

UPDATE: I tried to syringe feed her some pureed Innova like we did earlier. She took ~50 cc's of it. She licked and swallowed it the whole time. I honestly didn't think she was going to put up with too much of it but she let us syringe feed her 50 cc's. My dad said she had 30 cc's earlier today. Tha...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

The reason the vet gave diazepam was because she was thrashing a lot and the vet didn't want her to hurt herself. I know that these things are big procedures and I honestly didn't think it was such a big procedure. Hindsight is 20/20. I am not giving up hope on her. These stories are very encouragin...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

It will but she hasn't been really eating. My dad put some Innova Senior Chicken + Rice in the magic bullet and added some water. I am going to put some Karo on her gums every 3 hours all night until I can swing by the vet and get some high calorie food tomorrow. She had 30 mls of that food earlier ...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

Ok after checking on her after we put that Karo on her gums, she seems to be doing better. She was much livelier and when my dad whistled she perked her ears and we all agreed that she looked at him. I went in there and she was pawing at her ear. So I know that the little bit of Karo helped her. We ...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

Oh yes. We gave her some baby food last night and then I had some canned Innova Senior at home that I brought over. My dad said she licked up 30 cc's of it after he pureed it. She licked it out of his hand, all on her own. We put some karo on her gums too because I didn't know how much sugar the wet...

Re: The vet almost killed Ivy yesterday.

I just got to my dads house and she seems to be stable. She hasn't eaten since Monday night so we gave her some Karo syrup so her blood sugar doesn't get low. She just sleeps a lot. I went in there and turned on the light and she put her head up and I let her sniff me and she wagged her tail. I am g...

Re: Yeasty dog

I didn't read any of the replies (due to being here with Ivy, see my other thread) but my dog has yeasty paws and a bad yeasty ear. I put monistat in his paws and that has cleared them up. I have been dealing with it for a year with shampoos and stuff and it wasn't working and well, I got uh, yeasty...
