Re: Gorgeous Sacramento dog needs home

She is so lucky to have found you Becky, because this girl deserves waaaaay better than the Sac City Shelter. I hope she finds a home soo...

Help, my dog has OATS!

And by that I mean Over-Active Tongue Syndrome... sure it may not be a real syndrome and I know pitties are kissy in general, but his is beyond just the happy licking. He licks random objects and if we arent on him, he will lick huge wet spots on the couch just licking and licking. When he walks pas...

Re: Tivoli

is there an address I can ship some goodies to him at? The senior PB I just adopted had bad hair loss too, and crazy as it may sound, I am using MTG (see link below) and the hair is growing back QUICK! I'd love to send the shelter some along with some yummy treats for him! Message me if possible. Th...

Re: Fanny the Granny...OREGON

she is soooo cute! After having just adopted a senior pit bull myself, I cant say enough great things about them. They are like a PB for beginners, no puppy chew phase, easier to handle when they do show some fire (mine does around dogs on leash and cats), and require much less exercise and stimulat...

Re: Need some suggestions on door bolting

when you're testing/challenging her you cant be more than a couple feet away from her and gradually increase to more distance after you've had consistent results over a few days. Challenging her with even the slightest possibility of failure on your behalf kinda ruins the exercise (please dont take ...

Re: Need some suggestions on door bolting

Hate to say, but you need to start from square one with waiting at doorways IMO. My girl would likely take a cat down if she had a chance as well, so I manage the crap out of her. I watch her EVERY MOVE when the door is open and literally dont even give her .005 seconds without supervision if the do...

Re: Little Sid, puppy in SF Bay Area

dognerd... Arthur, the bully mix is in a foster to adopt home. He had a problem with separation anxiety and was so lucky to find a stay-at-home parent. Sid, on the other hand still hasnt found a home somehow. He is so cute, extremely smart, and is sweet as pie! He has overcome his guarding issues an...

Re: Intoducing a puppy to my pit

I agree there is a LOT to think about before adding another dog to your home, and dont take the decision lightly. Im in the 707 as well if you want to meet up sometime and I can introduce my foster puppy to Jasmin to give you some pointers with introductions if you'd like. feel free to PM me

Re: This is my last resort...

Im so sorry for you having to go through this situation, its not fun at all. I went through a similar situation with my rescue PB, Otter. After he bit the second time, I had extensive testing done on him, and decided along with my vet, behaviorist and family to put him down. It was tough, and Im not...

2 issues... treadmill and food obsession

Morning all! Our foster PB, Sid, has made great strides with his training and is ready for a new home IMO, but he has yet to find one. In the meantime, I want to work on 2 things with him. First off, he is OBSESSED with food. We havent ever fed him table scraps, though I dont know what his past was ...

Re: resource guarding in foster pup (4mos old)

we aren't sure on age, just a guess by the vet due to his tooth development and size. He looks much bigger in the pictures than he really is, he's only about 15lbs. We are only on day two but he is already doing much better. He is sitting before doors and sitting patiently with our group for his tur...

Re: resource guarding in foster pup (4mos old)

that's exactly how I feel about it. I take the toy from him if he even peeps a growl, because my bully girl is such a wuss, she just walks away from any confrontation. He is also getting lots of crate time to learn to "settle" and learning some boundaries in the house (sitting before walki...
