Re: Hot Dogs
This is my issue living in phoenix. Early morning temps are high 80's (this morning it was 88 at 6am), so we work more on the tread, go for a spin around the block for mental stim and routine, and have been doing more play and training inside. 10pm it was 102. When we get back from walks, they both ...

Re: Wanna work out a couple of problems
Here is what I am working on with Lucky.. my freight train. I am using a Halti, but started using a flat collar. The Halti has helped to accelerate his learning. When he reaches the end of the lead, and before he starts to pull, i correct him by saying with me and turn in the other direction. I am i...

Re: Yeasty dog
Hmm... your pup is gonna need an antifungal bath twice weekly or an antifungal wipe twice daily... those feet look pretty rough... Is he chewing at them a lot? No, surprisingly, he is not fussing with them at all. And he is usually such a WIMP! The only reason I noticed this was because he bopped m...

Re: Yeasty dog
Well - are the paws red/irritated? MissKiwi says only 10% of allergies are food caused, the rest are airborne, or environmental. If the paws are not red/irritated, I'd not get too aggressive - but maybe do chlorhexadine soaks a few times a week. You don't want to strip the natural oils by overwashi...

Re: Yeasty dog
Try Natural Balance. We use the Venison formulation for our allergic dogs. You can buy Ketoconazole shampoo at Walmart in the dandruff section, it's called Nizoral (sp?) and also you can purchase chlorhexadine at many feed stores, or online, in a gallon jug. We mix it by hand in with the shampoo we...

Re: Yeasty dog
OT: have you had a skin scrape for mange? Also just because one of ours is chewing her feet on Bison doesn't mean all dogs will, the other one tolerated it fine...odd, huh? I haven't because it was just the ear that took us to the vet and they didn't seem to think it could be a skin infection since...

Re: Yeasty dog
See if your vet will get you a ketoconazole shampoo, or better yet, an antifungal combined with chlorhexadine shampoo. Yeast infections are almost always related to some underlying inflammatory cause, less likely related to food and more likely related to environmental allergies. If the yeast infec...

Currently feeding Kirkland Weight Management with a tablespoon of pumpkin and yogurt mixed in, which finally sett...

Re: jumping and whining in front of other dogs..... HELP PLEASE.
How is bevo's foundational obedience training? Does he have good attention when in a low distraction environment? That is what I would work on first before trying to train him around other dogs, otherwise the frustration level of trying to get him to preform while having a super high value reward ar...
