Re: another puppy/diet/loose stool question (sorry)

so happy to update that "7" the pup is doing much better! I went through a small bag of Royal Kanin, I never could give it to him straight with out getting bouts of upset stomach, I had to mix it with brown rice, the most I gave him was about 1/2 cup at a time, after that I put him on Puri...

Re: I tried all the tricks.

This is totally normal. Enjoy the early puppiness it while it lasts. The mouthiness is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Prepare yourself for a few more months of a very mouthy hard biting puppy. It does get better as long as you act right. Your attention is your biggest weapon. You c...

Re: another puppy/diet/loose stool question (sorry)

Not food-related, but I just wanted to point out to check for giardia or things like that. My new puppy was having a pretty bad case of diarrhea all of a sudden and we gave a bland diet for a while, but as soon as we put him back on regular food, the diarrhea was back. It went on for a while, I too...

Re: another puppy/diet/loose stool question (sorry)

I had planned on trying new kibble to find one that works for him, although with his apparently sensitive stomach this may take a while. My question is, what food have dogs with sensitive stomachs, particularly pups, here had success here with? Any input would be appreciated and I'll continue to se...

another puppy/diet/loose stool question (sorry)

quick back ground: Sevens is now 8 months. I adopted him at 13 weeks, he was on Benniful. I switched him over to Iam's, thinking it was a "step up", he did ok till about 2 months ago, started to get diarrhea. After each bout of diarrhea, I'd settle his stomach with boiled chicken/rice for ...

Re: Sick pup? Opinions please...

Good news! Just came back from a walk and he had his first solid bowel movement since last Saturday, though it was small.Great relief. I'll keep him on his bland diet till end of week and bring him in on Friday. I really appreciate the input, thank you!

Sick pup? Opinions please...

Seven just turned 7 months. Saturday morning I took him to an enclosed park and I saw him eat something, on the other of the enclosed area, too far for me to reach him before he consumed whatever it might have been,This past Sunday morning he woke me up with"dry heaving" sounds. I held him...

Re: Does my puppy like me?

Monster Misu, this post is funnny as I was starting to think the same thing about my pup. I've had him for a more than a month. Not a lovable pup by any means for first 4 weeks, when people would come to visit he would seem to like these new people so much more than me. :po: Than in the last 7 days ...

Re: Parvo vaccinations

"The vaccine will not be effective until the maternal immunity has worn off." I got my pup at 11 weeks, I've had him a month. His mother was rescued from the shelter when he was a week old, the rescuer had his mom and all the pups, so he spent 11 full weeks with mother. Do these 11 weeks s...

Re: Parvo vaccinations

wow, that last advices was good....I guess I was looking for some justification to take my pup on walks before that last booster, but I'd rather be safe and find other ways to work off his energys while he's under "house arrest" for couple more weeks
