Re: Dog not eating.

Thanks to all. It has been a rough day and few weeks. My wife and I are planning on spending the day with her tomorrow and then taking her in Wed morning to be put down. I am kind of relieved, I kept thinking this was because of the baby coming home and feeling guilt about how we were going to handl...

Re: Dog not eating.

Her insides are covered with cancer. We're going to spend the day with her tomorrow and then send her on her way to frisbees in heaven.

Re: Dog not eating.

I am getting desperate. My dog is down to skin and bones. She has had all blood-work done with no abnormal results teeth are fine. She is having an ultrasound tomorrow. And if they find nothing I am pretty sure we have then determined that this is the result of the newborn in our house as the non-ea...

Re: Dog not eating.

That's the thing. We have been overly proactive in giving all three dogs plenty of attention. My wife is home from work for a while and they have actually been getting more walks and attention than even before. I hear so many people say, "Oh just wait till the baby comes you won't have time for...

Re: Dog not eating.

I thought that would be covered in the full blood panel but I'm not sure, I'll have to ask.

Dog not eating.

My 10 yr old female APBT is not eating and losing weight. She will just pick at her food. We have tried adding wet food to her kibble (wellness) and it worked for a little while but now she has lost interest in that as well. I put some turkey in the mix the other day and she picked through and ate t...

That's what I'm saying. Two more promotions and I'll be Captain. Then I can make the call and we will have a station dog. You can bet your rump what kind it will be. :headbang:

Jacksonville FL- Dog being raised by firemen needs home.

This message is from a co-worker. Seasons greetings to everyone. Fire station 44, located at 8275 western way, in the baymeadows area of Jacksonville has found a female pit bull/ mix dog. She is brown and white and has been spayed. She is very loving and playful. When she showed up at our station, s...

Re: Puppy not interested in her food.

why is it a problem for her to have other things in her kibble? It's not a problem, I just don't want her to become spoiled and only eat when something else is mixed in. Would like her to eat when she's fed. Wife said she scarfed all her dinner up tonight, maybe she's realizing it's what's for dinn...

Re: Puppy not interested in her food.

Adrianne, The only thing I am worried about with adding the bribes in with her food is that she will only want to eat with other things supplemented in and then not want to eat with no extras in it. I know adding stuff in works because I tried with some cheese and it did work but she did kind of eat...

Puppy not interested in her food.

I'm going to start a new topic for this. I have recently switched my 6 month old APBT from Science diet to the Wellnesss Super5mix Puppy and am on the last week of 3 for weening her. She has over the last week and a half become very dissinterested in her food. I will catch her trying to eat out of m...

Re: Decided on food change. Ween or not Ween?

Let me add that everyone is on a feeding schedule now. And my older dogs are being weened on to the Wellness super5mix, they seem to like it a lot. I have been picking up their bowls after 20 minutes, the only one having a problem is Josie, the six month old pit.

Re: Decided on food change. Ween or not Ween?

Yes, they are left unsupervised. They have been together a decade with no problems. I realize something could happen, but I will just have to deal with that if it occurs because I have no way of feasibly seperating them for the time we are at work. Puppy is still only picking at her food, I am going...

Re: Decided on food change. Ween or not Ween?

I realize free-feeding is not the optimal situation. To be honest though, up until now it has not been a problem. Our older dogs are a pit and a pit lab mix. They each had their bowl of food right next to each other and amazingly enough, would never eat the other ones food. They respected the other ...
