AH CRAP. Onions/garlic - should I worry?

um - Bella just ate about 1/2 cup of salsa I had sitting out on the coffee table. I looked it up and onions and garlic are toxic for dogs?! OMG REALLY?! Crap - do I worry? What do I do?

UGH!

Re: multi dog newbie question

Thanks everyone! I feel like every single day offers me more chances to get to know Bella. I know Bruno like the back of my hand and I love that trust, that deep connection and that bond. It's starting with Bella and it reminds me of when we first got Bruno. It feels good to finally figure her out a...

Re: multi dog newbie question

Ok, good things.... :) I suppose I wasn't very correct in saying he is always in charge...just that when they met the first time the very first interact was that he took charge. Now that I think about it and reflect on the play sessions they have had - there definately has been some give and take. S...

Re: multi dog newbie question

And forgot to add it doesn't seem like fighting but sometimes it sure sounds like it...which causes me to feel like I need to "break it up" even if they are in control of themselves and just having fun. They both respond great just to a verbal command to stop....although Bruno more than Be...

multi dog newbie question

Ok so this is the first time in my life owning 2 adult dogs - not a mother/child situation - before. To add value - they are both bullies. You all know that my boy Bruno is like a bulldog angel that can do no wrong (yeah he can be naughty but he is just about about bulletproof). However our new gal ...

Re: split nail bleeding - what do I do?

UGH. I took him in. It was a BAD break. Almost 2/3 of the way up and breaking backwards towards the foot. Doc didn't trim it to the break due to bleeding...we just got it so it wasn't going to keep catching and re-opening. Then he sealed it with something. At any rate - I will be keeping an eye on i...

split nail bleeding - what do I do?

I have NEVER had this happen in all my life with one of my dogs. Do I need to do anything? Looks like Bruno split one of his nails on his rear paw. It's bleeding red blood. Nothing awful but it is getting on the carpet when he sits there.

Re: peeing issues

Ok thank you guys! I knew you would give me some sort of info to pass on to her. I think they had him to the vet at his yearly but felt that this is just "his issue" and didn't push it with the vet? I know that is easy to do but sometimes it isn't always that simple and I was hoping for so...

peeing issues

I am asking you guys for a friend's dog because you guys always have such great thoughts on these things. She has an older mini schnauzer. I think he is 12? Anyway - he wears a "diaper" pretty much all the time because of his peeing problems. It seems his issues have gotten worse now. He p...

Re: Leg injury - what do I look for?

Poor Bruno and poor you! My 140# Labradork often hurt his leg from running like a maniac and the Vet would always have me leash walk him for a few weeks and put him on Rimadyl. Unfortunately, he just had cruciate surgery because of all the rough housing he did. But, maybe Bruno just needs to rest t...

Re: Leg injury - what do I look for?

On a good note...I was so worried earlier that if he did have a problem of what my hubby would say if it needed repairing...and he said: I sure hope Brune is ok but if he isn't - well I will get my dog fixed up right. :inlove: At least I can put that worry of cost out of my mind and know that he sup...

Leg injury - what do I look for?

Oh god you guys....one of my worst nightmares *might* have happened tonight. Bruno slipped going up the back steps because of ice and snow. I was right there letting him in and he slipped through the step with his back leg then proceeded to lose his footing over and over and over. He was bascially l...
