I've become a big fan of laminate, which I don't stress over near as much as the original hardwood floors we've had in our older houses, much as I loved them. We might have used ceramic or other tile, but the house was just built and we heard that tile can also crack as the house settles, so we thou...

- I agree with Julie. Mental work is just as demanding and tiring as physical stuff. After class, isn't Kadin pooped? I think you should continue to occupy him mentally with your training him, off and on leash, as well as your games of "find it." Another wonderful mental exercise Turid Rug...

- the rescuer we adopted Brody from has family in IN. I've emailed her and a couple in the St. Louis area to see if they might have any contacts *fingers crossed*

That trainer/behaviorist you talked with (the roller) sounds pretty d&#@ worthless if not downright scary. :thumbs down:

Just got back from Turid Rugaas' seminar and it was fantastic. She talked about the positive methods of loose leash training, which have pretty well covered basically in this thread, or in her book, which has already been referenced. In a hands-on session, it worked wonders in no time, on all the do...

Funny this thread got bumped up - we ordered from the site above and the order was delivered today (ordered last Monday! that was fast!!). Talk about excited! We looked around and this site was by far the least expensive. The only drawback (maybe) is that the smallest increment they sell by is by th...

 Aw, Pineysmom, I'm so sorry! I'm in the "overexcited nip" camp, too, and don't think it was aggression - We've worked with Brody on bite inhibition but a couple times his nips have been painful! Once when we were playing around, he nipped at the end of my t-shirt and caught my skin o...
