Re: Urinary trouble

Last specific gravity was 0.010. Admittedly that was at least a year ago at a different vet and if it has been measured since, my new vet hasn't mentioned it. I am very certain it has not improved though and if anything is even lower. This is something we'll check next week for sure though. BUN and ...

Re: Urinary trouble

I have a large water fountain that he shares with 2 other small dogs and 6 cats. If I stopped refilling the water all the time, the others would never get a drink. I did measure his water intake once a couple years ago when his urine started to be dilute and it was determined that he was drinking an...

Urinary trouble

I'm looking for opinions on possible next steps. 13 year old dog who appears to be drinking much more than normal. I haven't actually measured his intake but I am refilling a 2.5 gallon water fountain at least 2-3 times per day now so I'd say at minimum he is drinking 3 gallons of water per day. His...

Re: Questions

Malnutrition and starving aren't the same thing. You can feed a puppy all day long and he may even gain weight but if his diet is missing essential ingredients, he's going to be malnourished and things like what you're seeing will happen. You may not like the vet's "bedside" manner that mu...

Re: need help...DESPERATE!!!

A trip to the vet is a must. Drastic change in behavior should be followed up with a vet visit ASAP.

Re: pit bull chasing cat

Train your dog to leave the cat alone. The cat does not think your dog is playing.

Re: Aspiration Pneumonia

You might be able to thicken her liquids a little, making it harder for her to inhale them. There are products on the market that do this. They are powders and sometimes liquids you can add to water that will simply thicken it. The more you add, the thicker the liquid will get.

Re: Barking while playing/frustrated

I probably would if it was my house but i live with my cousin who doesn't want her inside. All the furniture is brand new and leather and the floors are wood. Even at their shortest length her nails are very long. She'd rip everything up just by touching it. I used to keep her in her crate in the g...

Why in the world would anybody be excited to adopt a dog to her? She just returns them if they aren't perfect right away?

Re: OMG! Don't let Pat Cook get an Aussie!

That's just terrible. I've never heard of her but she sounds awful to trade dogs in and out like that. She should be put on a DNA list. There's probably a good reason the dog was afraid at her house.

Re: CGC for Reactive Dog?

If you approached a CGC passed dog on the street and did an impromptu test, many would not pass. That is pretty normal. Go ahead and test him and get the certificate.

Re: ACL repair. To knife or not.

If she's going to have arthritis either way, seems it would be better to have arthritis and a fixed ACL than arthritis and a torn ACL.
