Re: Alternatives to Metacam?

I prefer tramadol, or Duramaxx. I used Medicam with one of my dogs with no problem. When I used it for the other it was the worst case of bloody diarrhea ever. There are tons of pain meds out there and as the owner, you have the right to options. Don't let a vet tell you what you have to use. When m...

Re: Work to eat toys

I have a couple of Whippets that chew crazy. We love the kong wobbler. I am also a fan of the good old fashioned Buster Cube. My guys chew, so it has to be hard plastic, or it's wrecked in a half hour.

Re: Garden City, MI

Much like the governments "No Child Left Behind" law, the council wants to sit and make fantasy rules about things that they could not possibly have the money to enforce. If they do have the money, why don't they use it to get these drug pushers off the streets. I live in a fairly nice are...

Re: Rochester Hills, MI

I,m glad that the meeting went well. My sister has a part Pit in Rochester Hills. They're big on the no leash thing. I keep telling her, please go to meetings, please keep the dog on a leash, to no avail. Of course. It really never is the owners that let dogs run loose that go to the meetings, but s...

Re: Sterling Heights

Don't worry Shadow Wolf I'll stick around. I really don't think it will pass. Just stay with it. They tried to pass this in Fraser and we're a tiny town. I think the pro Bully people outweigh the anti Bully people. I don't live there, so I can't vote for anything, but I'll stick with it. There's app...

Re: Sterling Heights

Great Job Sterling Heights residents and helpers. I don't think BSL is happening anytime in our town. Overwhelming support. I loved the eighty something year old, three time Pit Bull owner, who kisses her dog goodnight and tucks him in every night. Good job people. Now we just have to work on gettin...

Re: Sterling Heights

I registered for this the other day. Anyone else going? I want to stay on the same page. What angle are you bringing it with. A couple people said that they be bringing up the stats of bites and attacks in other breeds. I figured I'd like to hit it with the angle of pushing for leash laws and the li...

Re: Sterling Heights, MI

Hey Sterling Heights, I'm from Fraser. Yeah, this is coming on pretty quick. I have a funny feeling that it will pass. My parents live in Sterling Heights and my Dad really doesn't like the breed. We actually don't own a bully right now. I was on the verge of adopting one, when our BSL thing came up...

How to stay on the good side

I've waited a while on commenting on this post, because I have been on the good and bad side of Bullies. On, the good side, I love them. When we look to take fosters, this is the one of my favorites. I don't own one, because at the time, we were getting dog #2, there were some great pups, but BSL wa...

Re: Torn CCL Sugury-what to expect

The insurance is way worth it. I've decided to put it on foster dogs too. The care is just so expensive when something happens. You gotta love those high energy dogs! I look at my Whippet sometimes and think "Uggghhh, what did I get myself into. We got her after a Jack Russel/Pomerainian/APBT m...

Re: Torn CCL Sugury-what to expect

I can understand your concern, about not wanting it to happen to you again. Their could be some truth to the weekend warrior syndrom. I was kind of concerned about crating, but then more concerned about what happens when my dog is free and I'm gone. It's a hard call, I wouldn't be suprised if the an...

Re: Torn CCL Sugury-what to expect

I've heard more stories like this, then I have genitic issues. My girl did something in daycare and Ireally didn't give it much thought, I thought she was just fooling around, so we played in the yard and went running. Later on, she showed up lame. Luckily, hers was a strain, or small tear and my ve...

Re: How do you "build muscle"?

Green Tripe can really help out with muscling. I have a Whippet that's on the thin side and this is what was recommended to me by my breeder/vet for muscling. Standard Process also makes a good natural supplement called Canine Muscular Skelatal support. This stuff kept my girl fit even through recov...

Re: Torn CCL Sugury-what to expect

I wouldn't have believed that they could win in the ring either, but I saw it with my own eyes. I think that there are a couple things to think about when it comes to the rise in this injury. First off, a rise in breed popularity. There are significantly more Pits then were around before. I agree/di...
